    Jaysus, didn't think he'd be 82.

Loved Smokie and the Bandit, great bit of no frills telly along with the Dukes of Hazzard.

I just said to the wife that Burt Reynolds died.

She was shocked - "Bertie's dead!".

Had to explain who he was.

In fairness they were both bandits so its an easy mistake for her to make:pac:

Sad news for sure, he knew his level and what the public wanted. Which was good old boy nonsense with a knowing smile.

Interesting fact - he, Clint Eastwood and David Jansen were all released Universal studios on the same day. I trust someone got fired later!

He had a long way to go, and a short time to get there.

    RIP indeed

Loved him in Strip tease. His feet covered in vaseline wearing cowboy boots and boxer shorts. Classic.

Boogie Nights wouldn't have been the cult movie it became without him.

Last time I seen him on TV I had a feeling he wouldn't see the twenties.

    RIP
