The son was caught with 30k worth of drugs.

    I missed that!

    Silly lad.
"I'll post it to myself - what could possibly go wrong??"

I feel for the family. Teenagers can do some really stupid stuff.

Looks like he got it from the "Darknet". Package was posted from the USA. I'm just wondering how the feck he afforded it.

Can't be great for the brand but it did survive child porn so I'm sure it can manage a bit of weed.

Pretty crappy thing to happen to a mother and family. Sad to see the blatant schadenfreude here.

Genuine points I brought up. Further damage to the brand

Breakfast some months ago. Was good and I heard good things about their food in general.

    Yup, yesterday!
Portions are huge. Salmon with mashed potato was about 1/2kg of mash on the plate I'd say. Food is decent enough quality.

Well there is no excuse for not giving Irish people enough spuds, in whatever form.

I had tapas and wine with the missus this evening in Iberian way on Douglas street, service and food were top notch, the atmosphere is unreal too, almost felt like we weren’t in Cork

Do they have a menu/pricing online?

Would be keen to take a look.

Is it the best tapas option in Cork? I know this has been asked a few times before!

Would tapas be good for two people sharing or would you need a group?

Ah right. Thai so. Had my hopes up for a decent indian at last.

Haveli Indian in Douglas is very good. Maybe a wee bit expensive. Their garlic naan is amazing and huge. Thali on Popes Quay is gorgeous too but Nepalese and the staff are just lovely.

Ate in spitjack at the weekend. Beautiful inside, lovely atmosphere and decor

Thought it was overpriced tbh and they messed up two orders( group of 8)
Would go back for lunch I think but not dinner of a Saturday evening if that makes sense.

Yeah the upstairs decor is fantastic. I thought the food there was excellent but the service was pretty poor. They were so slow, I mean it took them 30 mins to get us dessert menus! But poor/slow service seems to be a common occurrence in Cork.

    Tequila Jack?

Good Day Deli for pancakes yesterday. Tbh I find it only ok. It's VERY noisy once there's a few people in and the food is grand but pretty overpriced IMO. €12.50 for pancakes (2) the trimmings and a tea. Service is good though.

    Tequila Jack?

Not great to be honest - OK place for a drink at bar but I would not recommend for food - had an awful night there few months back and would not recommend.

Mexican in city is pretty limited to be honest! I know it gets is critics but Cafe Mexicana is grand for what u pay for I think - food won't blow u away but nice atmosphere and service . Always come away happy from there when dining with friends !

no prob thanks folks may give mexican a miss, is there anywhere you would recommend where the food does blow you away? Can be anywhere.

Have always been impressed with Market Lane and Elbow lane.

Electric is also good but I've heard mixed reports recently. Have been blown away by meals in all the above though more than once.

Few fine dining places in the city as well - TripAdvisor more or less lists them

Greens for me is tops - had a lovely evening there

Da Mirco ( itlain) on bridge street is getting good reviews - on list to go to next !

Glad it just wasn't me - I really try not to be too critical of places as I think its great for city and I like supporting new restaurants.
Grant it it was a busy fri night and was impressed seeing a place like that in cork down by the quays as great buzz in the place but food and service a big let down !

I think it’s more of a bar that serves food rather than a restaurant in reality. After a couple of margaritas people are more forgiving of their under seasoned guacamole or whatever. That said the churros were amazing!
