Actually I've no idea is it still there, haven't been in a while.

Used to go there for curry cheese chips for my lunch every Wednesday when I was in secondary school, many many years ago ... getting all nostalgic now!

Oh it's still there alright. There could be a nuclear strike on the town and the 4 lights would still be standing, serving curry-soaked goodness to the surviving mutants.

Adding cheese to anything is wrong. Cheese is wrong.
    You're wrong.

4 Lanterns in Sligo does the nicest one I've ever had.

Oh and also that little takeaway across from the garage at the junction between Ballybough and Fairview. They layer the chips and cheese and sauce like a lasagne, amaaazing ...
This is the problem with lost places, in fact everywhere Ive had cheese chips. They just throw the chips in the tray then bung the cheese on top. So you end up with 6 cheese chips and a tray of normal chips. Needs to be more of these types that take their time to layer it up.

I’m just generally not into dressed fries of any kind. The sogginess. I prefer even curry sauce to be on the side so the chips stay crisp and I can decide how much sauce I want on each on.

Curry cheese chips are one of those foods that aesthetically look better after coming out of your arse than they do before going into your gob.

Curry coleslaw chips are the job.

    Totally agree.

I showed my Malay boyfriend the picture of the curry cheese chips and he thought it looked yummy. He has just ordered McDonald's delivery. It's after 4.30 am

I thought the same of the Sligo Four Lights taco chips till Supamacs opened, and of Donegal Town, till Little Macs opened there.

Although their Curry, Cheese, Coslaw Chips is an absolutely abomination. I can see why it's also known as a swill box chips

    Wow 4 lanterns still exist

There used to be one in Dundalk. Long gone I think

Buncranna, Donegal Town, two in Letterkenny, and Sligo. Best Curry Chips anywhere.

This thread inspired me to get a curry cheese chip this evening.
It had been awhile and it was devine. I bet half the feckers bad mouthing curry cheese chips are the type that put pineapple on pizza.

Wouldn't be a big fan of curry cheese but after a few pints it definitely has....an allure.

My friend's a big fan of the garlic cheese in Supermacs but they always seem to be so tight with the amount of cheese, it's like the faintest dusting....

I worked in Supermac's when I was a teenager and there was a fair demand for coleslaw curry alright. :(

In the good old days (when I had more money than sense*). A margarita pizza garnished with chips & curry sauce was the perfect end to a night out.

*€5 per week might be enough to bring those days back.ðŸ˜

Any time I order cheese chips I also order a portion of cheese.

Then tip the box upside down, add the cheese portion and tip it back up. Then give it a good shake and you're all good.

I've never heard of curry cheese chip before thankfully. It's actually worse than the hellish mess that is chips cheese and gravy.
