This is certainly not a necessity.

There are plenty of other alarm clocks available.

Some of them available for less than a fiver.

You won't get a clock with all this functionality for a fiver or anything close to it.

    This is a great bargain.
Well I suppose the point is sure you can get a cheap no brand clock radio for a tenner but it won't have anything like the non obtrusive display this has or the features or the relatively decent sound quality for the price. I'd never have paid full price but for 30 euro happy out. I was surprised it doesn't have battery backup but it sets the time automatically on plug in and seems to keep alarm times. Of course not much use in a power cut. Should be ok if there's a temporary outage during the night. The sleep feature is nice to. Fades the volume lower before switching off. All in all good bargain. Possibly less value in non dab regions. Still has fm. The other point is probably most people use their phones these days for alarms. Like others have said wouldnt mind trying to remove the phone from the bedroom. Thanks OP

jaysus, I meant an alarm clock, any bloody alarm clock

mind you, I think we paid either €7 or €11 for the one we have. so that was a pure bargain.

Tough crowd. If you've tried to buy a clock radio anytime since the 1980s you'll find that 95% of them sound somewhere between a wasp in a tin can and a pair of teenagers headphones sitting next to you on the train. And they don't come with automatic time setting, auto dimming, multiple one press alarm settings, weekday/weekend alarm settings, usb charging port etc.

This is what I needed to know. Thank you.

I assume this is long gone at the offer price.? (discussions on the merits of clock radios versus alarm clocks and even the qualities of this one, aside)
