Conor Loftus will hopefully develop into a top top player given more regular playtime.

Brendan Harrison is an outstanding corner back when fully fit.

Hopefully? I dont think he cuts it in that panel.
And Brendan hasn been fully fit since the 2016 campaign. I dont rate him as highly as you seem to.

Off top of my head I would list both these:

Think Conor Loftus doesnt deserve to be there, Dont think hes ready just yet.
Brendan Harrison think he is poor for a side that is there and for what is ahead of him., although he has an All star.

    Stop it

    Ignored from your name alone.

    Stop it

    Another for the list
Harrison not good enough for the panel LOL
There must be no room with all "the egos "

Fully fit? He missed the majority of this year because of injury. I have to disagree with you on Harrison. I cant understand how you think that of Harrisson. Are you getting him mixed up with Caff? I would agree with you if its Caff. But i cant understand where you're coming from with Harrison. Watch the 2016 finals and the 2017 final.
I think Loftus has potential but needs to get out of Morans shadow. Drake and COS for sure. Regan has the potential but it hasn't happened for him!

Harrison was out this year due to injury and had surgery on either his hips or legs. I stand to be corrected.
Keegan had surgery around the same time.

I'm sorry if Brendan doesn't meet your standards. Luckily the manger, his peers and people with eyes can see his quality to include him in the team.

Funnilly enough I like Ger Caff.

Less than 48 hours to go to the All Ireland Final with Tyrone and the Dubs are trolling on this thread.... Just goes to show how little interest there is on that foregone conclusion...

Lads, yer obsessed with us!! :pac: Go away and enjoy yer 4 in a row - we'll see ye in 2019 and hopefully we can soften yer cough.... ;)

(Although, judging from the prospective managers we're being linked with, we probably won't....)

David Drake,Conor O Shea and perhaps a tad harsh Evan Regan.

He's had numerous chances and it's just not happened thus far.

I was at the Ballina Ballaghaderreen game last weekend and David Drake was outstanding at corner back. I think he gets a hard time from supporters.

Would tend to agree with you about CO'S and Regan.

I'll be honest I've never seen him at club level. But I have yet to see him contribute anything of note in a Mayo jersey other than run.

He'll never kick points like Keegan or Durcan he's still a good defender. I think Rochford missed a trick in Newbridge by not bringing him on when so many of our backs were out on their feet in the 2nd half.

Ah come on Wanderlustre he's a great defender, he'd start for Dublin imo. He'd be on my starting AI 15 as posted a few weeks ago

I don't know enough about it now so I don't think it's true now but there was a time that I thought that lads like M Conroy and Sweeney offered more as forwards but high output tracking back forwards were selected. At one stage Moran was the only natural forward starting where as i thought I'd seen others at different stages fall away.

But that type of Mayo player defined a very battle hardy tough Mayo team so who knows

Brendan Harrison not good enough - I've heard it all now. You'd wonder do some people actually watch football at all.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,386 ✭✭✭✭DDC1990

To be fair Harrison was totally anonymous in the Championship. I don't remember him making 1 meaningful contribution. It was if he wasn't on the field at all.

Then again he kept his men quiet as well. Don't think he conceded anything either.

Seriously? That's an odd choice of a show to go on for his first post resignation interview.

He was just on RTÉ news with Marty there

I just caught the end of this but I don't get why Rochford is doing this. Marty asking did the CB contact him since he resigned and stuff like this. It's over so he should just move on. Its dragging up a bad vibe to the position that could make it hard to fill.

It's starting to make him look bad in my eyes and ask what's the point of this.

    Seriously?

This is the GAA. Since when do people 'just move on?'

He has just stepped down from (arguably) the most high pressure managerial role in all of Irish sports. He is perfectly entitled to put forward his own version of things. Lord knows everyone else will.
