You've spent all day disrespecting people who are out to see the Pope.

Actually no disrespect whatsoever I disagree with showing support to an organisation that engaged in the systemic abuse and rape of children. That's voicing an opinion, done in a manner without insult.

    Your words hurt.

They must do or you wouldn't have replied.

Looks like a big turnout going by the RTE coverage

Some of the posters in the last few pages would make excellent orange flute players! :woot:

Your lack of empathy is unbelievable.

I'm glad your mother is doing ok. Thankfully. Dreadful to think what your attitude would be to her if she was not

This has nothing to do with his mother its because Colm o Gorman defends immigrants ...it s always about immigrants and Islam and they re coming to take our land etc etc

Ah now, is that not a bit rich on what is a 130+ page sneer-fest of (mainly pathetic) jokes about the church & its believers!

Not rich at all I mentioned abuse. The Kop has abused a poster here repeatedly in the last couple of pages. If you can't tell the difference between abuse and jokes that's not my problem.

You can always link any post where I have abused someone as you have done.

To tell the truth I think the Electric Picnic will be a damn sight more interesting.

I thought that too. But he seemingly had a roll of a couple of dozen of them.

You seem rather fragile for someone calling others 'snowflakes'.

There's only a few people scattered here and there if you believe some on this thread. Why are there so many obsessed with how many are out watching as if it's some sort if victory to those who don't want the Pope here?
This is coming from someone who has no interest in seeing him myself btw.

Last minute tickets maybe. The bulk of the tickets are well gone weeks ago.

I was wondering had you seen it when you initially issued a yellow instead of a red.

My missus walked to near croker with her aunt (who was going to the event) earlier. As she turned to head home she was offered 2 tickets.

The aunt said she was offered tickets by 10 different people over the last 2 days. There are loads of unused tickets around if people want them.

The crowds that I've seen around drumcondra are much smaller than a GAA match or the concerts earlier in the year

Fair enough, I did not see those comments but see them quoted now (might have been cleaned up by the time I looked at the thread?).

Suppose it depends on the "jokes" really doesn't it? Only read a bit of the early pages, but saw the church as an organisation compared to the Nazi regime & the pope compared to Larry Murphy (my aching sides)!:pac: Hardly a bit of father-ted-esque banter with no harm in it is it?

I know it's Tyrone but I would have thought the Dubs could still draw a crowd.

Just as a side note, just saw intro to croke Park gig on RTE2. Can anyone tell me what that music was played over the intro?

Back from Christchurch / Dublinia and got a great view of the Pope going past. People were about four or five deep there but I saw a brief clip from O'Connell Street and Dame Street a minute ago and the crowds looked huge there.

I'd say it was a good mix of Catholics, curious onlookers and tourists to the city.

Well for me, it’s interesting to compare to the 1979 crowds. I’ve seen aerials of Knock in 1979 that were astounding. People radiating outwards to the fields around the village. I will be very interested to compare tomorrow’s crowds there. It’s noteworthy from a social history point of view. I don’t see what’s strange about it.

    Different times back then.

This was O’Connell Street and Westmoreland Street as the Pope passed through earlier.
At ground level, the crowd looks decent enough but much thinner from the air:
