In my naivety I assumed the church had or was changing. This is the same ****e that was pedellaed out to us in our convent school thrifty years ago.

    Ffs.

Do these holy joe couples not get bored of this same old ****e?

Divorce happens. Marriage is not a dream.

They probably get bored of people like you calling them holy Joe's all the time.

At the World Meeting of Families organised by men who will never have a family, but see fit to tell us what's wrong with everyone else's.

I had similar attitude years ago until I had a chat to a priest in a charity I do some work for and realised they were ideally placed to give advice.

As they are not married they are less likely to judge people and those who go to a priest for guidance open up a lot more to them.

Hence they build up a mountain of knowledge over the years and use that to provide good advice.

Avoid of criticism as it's a human dictating to a crowd on a pulpit in echoing surroundings. It's like a communist dictatorship of preach love and instil fear.

I'd love a bit more joy. Like a spontaneous round of applause would have been nice there no?

Yeah what a horror of a man dating to talk about and look for retribution for the abuse he and a load of others suffered.

Ffs what an unchristian uncompassionate attitude you have

Bollox analogy a heart surgeon does what s right for the patient in the here and now , a priest gives advice while restricted to the confines of a doctrine. If a broken marriage was a heart the surgeon would say remove and transplant the priest would say stick with it and try to make it work. The first advice is practical and based on the reality of the here and now situation the second is based on some kind of ideal view of life and its tribulations.

Not sure you get to decide just how angry a rape victim is at his rapists and those who help to cover up that rape.

Especially when that rape victim has founded and runs a charity that has helped thousands of people who have suffered similar sex attacks.

Thread made me turn it on...pretty busy in town now. Big crowds and cheering...and he's waving to the crowds like he is some sort of celebrity. I don't understand this at all. Don't think there is any one who appeals to me enough that I'd go out to see them and cheer like that.

SCV 1 is the popemobile reg plate btw

My mum was raped too. But what can he do. Jog on

Your lack of empathy is unbelievable.

I'm glad your mother is doing ok. Thankfully. Dreadful to think what your attitude would be to her if she was not

He's shining a light on the institution that facilitated his rape, that covered it up and continues to cover up similar crimes.

    Sorry if that annoys you.

At ground level, the crowd looks decent enough but much thinner from the air:
