    Hello,

Currently have a 04 Peugeot 307. I'm looking to upgrade to something different but similar size. Budget is 12-15k euro, although I plan to go to UK for it, so hopefully budget will stretch further there.

So I'm fairly clueless about cars, one criteria is my bike must fit in the boot, with seats down, currently i don't have to take off front wheel, but it would be ok if I did :)

So from looking around current thoughts are
Volvo V40 - not sure of difference between D2/D3 etc
Opel Astra three door.... or Probably five door
    Audi A3

Anything else I should be considering?

I'm looking for something thats stylish, golf I suppose is another option, but i sometimes think it's a bit boring looking. As is perhaps Audi A3?

I'd like a high spec and nice looking inside.

Something that won't cost a fortune insurance wise, is there a way to know which cars are worse on insurance than others?

Also interested to know do these cars vary much when it comes to maintenance costs.

    Thanks for any help :)

how about a Seat Leon or Skoda Fabia? both seem to have large boot space

I can put a bike in the back of my Octavia with the seats down and the front wheel of the bike removed. And the Octy is renowned for its boot size.

I would suggest the v40 from that list if you don't have fitting the bike into it requirement. It is not that practical for such scenario.

    Or a Mazda 3

Golf with the seats down will take an XL frame with the front wheel off. Anything like a Golf, Focus, Astra, Octavia, Civic etc should do the job.

Would the Volvo and A3 not be expensive? Surely if you look at a Golf or Focus you'd get a newer model or better spec for the money?

What kind of driving do you do?
