    This has to be a joke?

    For the most part I think they just don't know how to spend their money or think of the consequences, so they get taxis without thinking of the implications.

    I do know that taxis are paid for in certain circumstances. Such as a family in sheltered accommodation near me who had a taxi bring their kids to school each morning. This was because they were forced to move from where they initially lived and the distance between new living place and the schools.

    My nephew is autistic and the council pays for taxis to school as the finds the bus upsetting.

    No bother with that tbh, it helps him and it should be used.

    She just posted this. So she knows the word “work” anyway. It’s the thing other people do for these things called “mortgage”.

    Oh the irony of her supporting someone who works and struggles to pay a mortgage!

    I actually don't buy the 300 arrears story to be honest. But another tale for another day!

    See what I mean ?

    It will work when the money saved is:

    Used to hire more Gardai;
    f**k political correctness and deploy them in the scummy areas where needed; lock people up for crimes regardless of their alleged "culture";
    get the CAB involved to all sites with allegedly no money but loads of 182 cars;
    build prisons where criminals are locked up for 23 hours a day, with only others who committed the same/similar crime (i.e. no putting a first offender mugger in with a lifer murderer).

    Can be done if there is the will. May take a generation but it's better than working your arse off and seeing scabs like this take take and take some more.

    But your solution is as unrealistic as anyone else's. Do you really think any Government would pass this kind of thing into law? No way.

    You go first! I wouldn't want hundreds of travellers sending me threatening messages.

    It is workable - whether we'll get politicians with the balls to implement it is another matter.

    What would be "unworkable" in your thoughts ?

    I believe they were collectively referred to as the catholic church!

    Ah Jaysus.

    I thought that the removal of history as a compulsory subject for the Junior Cert. had not been implemented yet.

    I would think that solution is realistic..Why not..?

    I'd agree that it would never be implemented however.

    Well the fact that it would never be implemented makes it unrealistic, to me anyway.

    Surely we could at least petition the government to highlight some of the issues raised here

    If not it will drag on for years and years

    The people who really deserve help rarely seem to get it in this country its beyond bizarre

    The regular one around here is 'Daddy is gone on holidays'

    A holiday is right, given the Irish justice system :rolleyes:

    The latest thing now is her buddies are denying daddy is a scumbag who beats up elderly women, anyone who mentions him is jumped on by the scobes who can't even string a coherent sentence together.

    Someone mentioned her own history with the law but sure that's all lies as well :rolleyes:

    What is her own history with the law? What’s the specifics of yer mans? Can we have links? I don’t believe there is any wrongdoing in exposing these people with facts?

    Him

    The 28-year-old's former long-term partner, John McCarthy, was remanded in the custody of Cloverhill Prison on July 25.

    He is facing charges of assault at Westmoreland Street on June 24, engaging in threatening, abusive or insulting behaviour and possession of an offensive weapon, involving a sharpened tent spike.

    Leave child allowance as it is, but after the budget, within one year, if you have more than two (maybe three) kids your child benefit is capped at X euro per month.

    A choice is given there isn't it? If you are self supporting go for it, if not, think again.

    A bonus for having two kids would be good too. Maybe an extra tenner a month or something. Universal, applies to everyone who made sacrifices in order to live their non dependent lives.

    It is only one aspect of DSP, but might be a start.
