Baby leaf salad with peppers, olives and tomatoes smothered in salad cream, chicken strips and garlic bread. A glass of white wine I blindly picked up as I forgot my indoor glasses while out. Was pleased to see it was Portuguese when I got home as all I could see was the yellow special offer sticker on the shelf. Sucks to be half blind :)

Tonight we're in a hotel we've been to many times before. We keep coming back to the hotel but not for the food which has always been underwhelming. It didn't matter because we come with the boy, so we usually eat somewhere more casual, away from the hotel (hate the idea of disturbing diners who are trying to relax on their holidays). Today however we stayed in the pool way longer than expected and were so hungry getting out that we decided to just eat here.

Well. Whatever shakeup they've had in the kitchen.... the food was something else.

Toddler had courgette and garlic soup. It was served with plenty of bread and a lovely lady telling him "just let me know if you'd like more". Also cream in a jug to cool it down if necessary.
He also ate bits from each of our plates. So he had a real mix of things.

I had an Indian style spinach "sauce". With a big slice of grilled halloumi and basmati rice.

Husband had a buttermilk chicken masala , rice, popadoms.

Genuinely one of the nicest meals. Both in terms of the food itself and the general relaxed atmosphere. Hunger too, a great sauce.
