I wouldn’t worry too much about. I currently have 150+ friends with 67 unopened gifts. I usually send 10-15 per day 5 days of the week with maybe 1-2 longer grinds where I send 50-70 gifts. (My best day was 125 gifts sent with 10 sitting in my bag)The nature of the 20 per day limit means you’re always gonna be in credit so to speak.
The friend interface is quite awkward to use, makes it hard to get down to lower level friends. And when you sent or open a gift it reverts to the top of the list!
I think it needs a scroll bar to be more useable.
