How much of the County Board's revenue comes from the gate at club games?

Its ironic the amount of people on here all year deriding the county board for not having proper facilities and to a degree they are right but in the same breath they are deriding the CB for trying to make a few euro to fund the facilities from gates at games. Can't have one without the other.

Also played Clare there. Wedged. I remember because I was a young fella mucking around behind Davy Fitz in goals. I think both FF and WP were being revamped at the time

Latest I've heard is Pauric Fanning with Tony Browne and Paul Flynn for the senior gig

True, but if that is what they are doing they should say as much. And who knows? Apropos that Carrickbeg tweet, there might be more money to be made if games are played on a home-and-away basis rather than dragging everyone to Waterford or Dungarvan for a double-single-header.

Any developments on the manager front ?? Really need to get a move on as training should begin in Oct/Nov. Planning needs to be done

I wouldn't be sure if a home/away would bring in extra supporters/money. Club hurling has a core group of fans.

Looking at the city clubs if they were to play in their home pitch or walsh park and faher field they would most likely still get the same crowd.

Also club pitches have a lack or seating/standing areas (although that may be more comfort than sitting on wooden seats or an angled bank)

I'm sure you're right, but it makes the business of splitting three games into two charges all the more annoying. The Americans have a great phrase for the practice of squeezing faithful customers dry - 'nickel and diming'. If you are going to do that, at least show some consideration for making their lives easier.

I think certainly from a western perspective it makes for a much better atmosphere at games. Tallow vs Ballyduff last week drew a decent crowd to Lismore despite heavy rain that day and served up a cracker.
Cappoquin played Tallow in Ballyduff previously I think, possibly even played Lismore there too although there is a small stand there to accommodate subs and elderly / disabled supporters at least.
Have Tallow hosted any championship games? None come to mind. I think Cappoquin is currently being underused. Prior to a lot of work being put in there it was used regularly for senior hurling games, strange not to see it getting more games now.
Colligan pitch is a good surface and is railed off so would imagine they could host fixtures too.
I think it means a lot to these clubs to host these types of games. Particularly clubs that don’t regularly get such games.
Attendance that can seem big at a small ground and generate a great atmosphere can get lost in Fraher and Walsh Park.
Maybe there is some logistical issues i’m overlooking with these like lights but during the group games and early knockout games that shouldn’t be an issue.
An Rinn against Lismore would have a much better atmosphere in say Colligan or Cappoquin.
Ballyduff vs FMW the same in Colligan, Cappoquin or Lismore.
It rules out the possibility of double headers in these venues but you could make 2 double headers for the senior q/f’s then to allow for this.

Ballysaggart to win the intermediate hurling this year I think. Big win tonight minus Kieran and Shane Bennett.

Big win is right. Was Colm Roche playing for Shamrocks tonight?

Full forward. Got their goal but the supply of ball into him was terrible. Definitely wasn’t utilised properly.

He scored all bar one of their scores? Scored 1-7 from play. How would you like to see him utilised? It was others that let them down tonight I’m afraid.
He also played most of the second half centre forward / midfield when Ballysaggart dropped men back in front of the D.

Great to see him score like that. He's a serious hurler and talent. Really like him.

Hopefully, the likes of Roche will get a look in under the new management.

Off the Croke Park later. Hard to believe 2 hurling mad counties like Waterford and Limerick have only won 3 AIs between them in 78 years.

Delighted for Limerick. Really stood up to Galway physically and should have won by 6/7.
The majority of the team and management have emerged from the under 21 all Ireland’s, teams not sure why we’re not following a similar route.

I think if anything the past two years has highlighted how the system we played failed us. We have a squad as good if not better at times than limerick and galway who both ended a 40+ and 20+ year wait respectively and yet we still wait.

Especially considering we won a league title in Derek's second year.

All talk of, this man are that is not the right man for the job as they do not have inter county senior experience is rubbish and today proved it.
