How do I restore this bedside locker?

I want to fix up this locker. It’s pine, I think, there’s scratches on it and marks/ stains... you can see in photo. I’d like to keep natural wood colour rather than paint it. Should I use wax or varnish? I need to cover the scratches on it but don’t want it with a high shine at the end of it. Will wax cover up the marks…

Sand it down. Danish Oil. Danish Oil. Then buff it up.

If you want a shine, Oil then varnish- gloss or satin.

The "better" the finish you require decides how well you need to sand. Just buffing up the Danish Oil is quite forgiving, whereas gloss is another story.
