Any clarification of the location in Co Meath ?

Could it have been someplace like Ashbourne,Clonee or Dunshaughlin...?

The reporting of Co Meath appears designed to instill images akin to the more remote locations in Leitrim rather than just up the road from Finglas ?

This!!! She wanted a few likes and a bit of attention on Facebook .She thinks she is being clever and will get the sympathy vote from the council and get what she demands . It will probably work too given the media attention it has received .

The media are more daft than she is..... according to me :D

Just daft reporting. Or maybe they have been told to do this to get at the Government or something in order to increase the TV license fee or something.

Honestly. I feel very sorry for anyone who cannot see the manipulation here. But I am probably alone in not being totally PC or something.

I’m not buying your last statement.

Wheeliebin30 you've no idea how happy you just made me feel. I've been very uncomfortable arguing on this side of the fence all day. I've seen your name pop up and I'm praying that you don't say something that I agree with. We have a perfect relationship where we disagree on homelessness. The status quo still exists. :)

She was on the echo a few years back looking for a house with six kids then.

Sure it is, and y’know I get that. What I don’t get is the moral high horsery. Sure we all had tough upbringings and we all went through shìt and so what... that gives us the right to dump on someone else because they have an even shìttier life than us? I dunno, I’m just not seeing what anyone actually achieves with that craic tbh.

it makes them feel superior. dispite all the leaps forward, that old attitude of being judgemental and looking down upon others and thinking one is better then someone else is still very much alive in ireland.

Absolute bollox EOTR. 6 kids is a lot more than 1 and you know it. Unplanned pregnancies happen. That's fine. Half a dozen don't. It's a lifestyle choice and I'm paying for it.

not at all, it's reality. the children can't be put back inside her, they are here and existing. so telling her she shouldn't have had children is a pointless exercise and someone typing it could have typed something else that would have a point to it.

Eotr, you said they will never own anything!

Have a look at her page, she owns some nice crystal vases, don't think she robbed them this time. Also looked like a fairly nice car they go out in for spins/days out

most people have a car. how likely is this woman and her partner ever to own a house? they will always be at some bit of a disadvantage by relying on the council to house them, or renting privately.

Not near the relatives in some other enclave I suspect.

I will say it again, if you don't work you are not entitled to a premium property in Dublin. End of story.

Why would you be so entitled, and have others pay for you who may have to commute further than Meath anyway?

    Why is it worth noting?

It's not really its just BS she is using to try and justify getting a 4 bed house in the location she desires.

Everyone else that is forced to move away from where they grew up because of property prices just uses a car.

It's soul destroying . It really is . I'm working long hours to keep my head above water and I've a small mortgage ,I didn't buy above my means , so I could keep myself and my family in our home . To see this person today has boiled my blood . She doesn't give a sh*t about her kids and I don't care if people don't like what I'm saying . It's the truth .If I have a week where I'm low on funds do you think for one second I'd go out drinking or go on a sun bed . She is brazen .

Have you tried the council for a mortgage? Might be worth looking into.

Looking in to it, might be a couple of obstacles for the o/h but hopefully something good will come of it. Appreciate the heads up :)

I hear you. And I am totally with you and others in your circumstances. You do not get a voice in the media though. Time to talk to your TD and get a group behind you to balance things out a bit I think.

Keep going though. Far more dignity in supporting yourself. And I admire you and everyone else who does this, but no publicity for you and your peers EVER in the media.

    Time to fight back maybe?

If South Dublin Council give in to this stunt there will be a queue a mile long outside Tallaght Garda station.
Fair is fair the ordinary decent people on the housing list mustn't be pushed back by this type of behaviour

You said ''when they have one child it's too late by then to tell them otherwise.'' It's not. Going on to have 5 more after that at the cost of everyone else is avoidable. Your point was sh*te. Accept it. Move on.

Because dead parents aren't much use when it comes to baby sitting or having a quiet word in their daughter's ear when she needs a bit of parenting.

I will always campaign for homeless people but you have to read between the lines. Not everyone is honest & not everyone deserves to be defended.

I'll say it one last time today, very few homeless people will have their children photoed or camp outside dcc in a tent. Most homeless people don't want publicity. Many are ashamed of a situation not of their making. Usually the one's making waves like this "mother" are scamming and not genuine. This comes out after days or weeks & then the flat earthers claiming there's no homeless people use the likes of this "mother" to bash us on the head. There is only a few liars & cheaters like this "mother" but they get wheeled out every time to try prove all homeless are fakes

Last time I heard from peter mcverry only 1 in 5 homeless are working.

Definitely . I'm totally for each to their own but this crap gets on my nerves . It's a choice not an entitlement .

Wish you well. Time has come for people who work and contribute, and take what they can afford to challenge the Government about their situations too.

I don't know how the homeless issue became focused on those who never contributed and deem themselves entitled came from. Probably from the taxpayer funded Homeless Charities I reckon.

Well they have to have a raison d'etre for their existence don't they? They are not in any way "charities", they may have charitable status, but they are funded by the taxpayer.

I would call the situation "shelterless" not "homeless". If you cannot afford to pay for your own home you accept shelter, and that is provided no problem.

Issue is, some want their shelter on THEIR terms. Sorry now.

Time for political parties and councils to grow a spine

Galls me to see crap pulled by people like this who contribute nothing to society and just drain it dry for every cent they can (not even counting the costs of all the other crap that was pulled)

No reason in the world for any government to pay people to have children - two and that's it - the country is not run by the church anymore. Any more you pay for them, continue to have kids then forced sterilization.
People work full time jobs and daren't even have more than two kids because they know they can't afford to but hey you're onto a winner if you're on the social, pop em out every year or two
Far too long this country has been a soft touch. Take all that money saved and spend it on the health system for the like of people fighting to get medication to save their lives because of illnesses that were not their fault and so many other areas.

I am sick to the back teeth of seeing and hearing Provisional Harry Potter (Eoin O'Broin of SF) pontificating.

I will offer a shiny new donkey to the journo who asks him about Northern Ireland having 18.5k homeless people off a population of 1.8m and not a peep out of SF about it. RoI rate (still too high) for comparison is 9.8k off a population of 4.8m

EOTR, I'm angry and sad that you still stand up for someone that is clearly milking the system. Don't tell me that she is justified in her antics today. Someone that has a kid at 17 maybe a mistake, but 7 is clear to me that they want it all. Without paying into the pot.

I'm actually disgusted at your defence of this person. Promoting someone that does not add to the public coffers.
But all they do is take, I find it baffling that anyone can defend this.

I said before have a look at her fb, if you have not. And still posted this ****e. Well, I'm so lost for words,im not really. but I would get banned for what I want to say in full about her. Her past and all on here defending her, over hard working people and her (and her defenders) of entitlement of hard working people. I'm seething tbh.

There are still plenty of genuine homeless though. Unfortunately it's idiots like this scammed that takes up so much of everyone's time and energy.

I'm struggling with the maths of it. Child benefit for six kids is 840 a month. Lone parents is up to 200 plus 30 per child per week. Minimum she's getting from that is 1100 a month. job seekers probably another 800 per month. That's excluding all the extra benefits she'd be getting from social. How can you need help setting up a home when you are getting about 3000 a month from social?

Again, another question people are afraid to ask.
Not defending this publicity stunt at all but:
You can not claim job seekers and lone parents . Tis one or the other. Plus lone parents only til the child reaches 7. So definitely not €3000 pm.

Planning permission for 40 houses was put up for a field beside our estate 2 weeks ago. He was around the next day to our houses looking to survey for ‘their’ submission to the council. The bloody neck of them.
