Well this story has certainly blown up today. It's on every news channel and mentioned in every newspaper out there in the real world. No mention of her facebook or trawling through her facebook in an attempt to discredit the story out there in the real world either. Probably because normal sane people don't do that sort of thing.

It certainly paints the government as a group of people who don't care about the homeless, don't care about the rental market crisis, don't care about the housing crisis. Just work harder and earn more money is the answer they're putting out.

There'll be families sleeping in Garda stations tonight, tomorrow night and on into the future unless there's some action from the government on this.

Where are the seven fathers to her seven kids?
I'm sick of seeing sponges like this getting a free ride at worker's expense.

I genuinely feel sorry for the kids involved here but she shouldn't have had so many if she couldn't support them.

It is probably a good thing the way this was reported in the end.

Maybe now journos and the right on media outlets will actually do a bit of research on the people involved in such scams before reporting or publishing.

I hope they are morto tonight.

Im fed the fxxk up paying a mortgage, paye, prsi, usc, pension levy, superannuation, road tax tv license so scrotes can live off me and every other hard working person in the country. We get nothing in return except for more levys and hardship while the rich get richer and the lay abouts get everything handed to them for nothing. This young lady is raising kids who see this behaviour and think its the way to go. Granny by 35 I bet.

    Im sick of it.

Why would the Gardai allow a photo to be taken as they must have know it was going to be published and be politicised and debated? That's not the job of the Gardai.

    Not really.

It's a completely understandable reaction from people who are themselves struggling to make ends meet and see a complete chancer trying to exploit the system.

I saw her talking on TV3 News and all I can say is that I hope she gets a permanent home so that her seven children at least have half a chance of getting a stable education - something that she was very obviously denied, probably through circumstances beyond her own control.

And why are the newspapers not using the photos of the kids on makeshift beds, not chairs?

Rubbish. No one has to go to a Garda Station unless they leave it too late to apply during the day for emergency accommodation.

It is no wonder that right wing thinking is becoming a bit more prevalent now. Enough is enough.

Genuine cases will not look for this type of publicity, and they will be looked after. Despite everything we are a caring country.

The housing issue does not only affect those who are in the "entitled" cohort, it affects lots of people out there working their ass off every day too. Don't hear too much from them though.

Right-wing policies have literally caused the housing crisis.

This is shaping up to be nearly as big an own goal for the poverty industry as that time they held a vigil for the paedophile repeat offender who deliberately infected people with HIV:

    https://www.thesun.ie/news/1489621/homeless-man-found-dead-in-dublin-city-centre-was-convicted-paedophile-who-wilfully-passed-hiv-to-a-woman/

Can the likes of the Inner City Helping Homeless never celebrate the cause of an honest person instead of whatever chancer spins the best yarn? We have a genuine Housing Crisis and this nonsense does nothing to help solve it.

The entitlement culture stretches to the high heavens in this country it really does the media love to play on cases like this but few are buying it except for a few gullible idiots.

I can't remember many photos being taken inside a Garda station before. Who authorised that? And for what purpose?

It's actually illegal. Plenty of signs stating no photos or videos.

It doesn't take an education to know that liars always get caught out.

They don't have the intelligence to delete the evidence from their Facebook page.
The real reason this issue is topical is because news and media outlets lapped it up without looking on Facebook first. Simple. That's where everyone gets the REAL news about things homeless these days, and it filters out the idiots pulling a fast one.

I posted this thread before most news agency picked up on it. It was obviously a fraud then & I still haven't seen her Facebook page yet
    Mutant z wrote:
She was offered a place already but she turned it down what does that say about her surely if she was that desperate she would take what was offered but of course that isn't enough for her.

I did guess this early on in the day

People, it's almost a given at this stage that when someone posts photos of their kids in the Garda station or camping outside the DCC buildings that they care little about their children and are not genuine cases. Poster child will be proven to be fake. Most genuine cases won't want their children used in such a way. Blindly defending someone who claims to be homeless can genuinely harm real cases

I can't help but find it funny that she runs to a garda station, while previously being known for intentionally not appearing in court.

People are saying there is an 8th child staying else where

I’d say it won’t be the last time some of them kids get to experience a sleepover in a Garda Station!

Ahh. I see. SHE posted the pics. Not a photographer. Don't think this is allowable (or legal?) as per previous poster's observation. So has the boss at thst station made any comment about that?

Has anyone noticed in the url of her facebook it's actually "margartandjohnnycash"?

As I said in an earlier post, I reckon the Gardai just stood back and let the truth come out.

The lady appears to be no stranger to the Gardai anyway.

Hopefully the best thing to come out of this is properly researched reporting. I live in hope on that one!

This is the stuff of Jeremy Kyle. And to have to listen to every radio station in the country today expressing outrage about this 'unfortunate woman' & to read the bullocks written in this thread today defending and supporting her is nauseating. My home, mortgaged to the hilt, was burgled by her ilk. My possessions, bought & paid for were stolen. My home was desecrated. I pay outlandish income tax, property tax, road tax, universal social charge, PRSI, VAT, and God knows what else. I keep to the right side of the law, and ask for nothing from the State. This lowlife, despite being a criminal, expects me.... ME!!!! to finance her housing requirements???? Go To Hell! I am apoplectic.

It's the bally ballyness of it that makes it all seem so bally bally.

Seems to be an update. They were offered accommodation in Latvia, but it was impossible to get there.

Oh wait, no, Meath, they were offered somewhere in Meath, but as we all know, it’s impossible to get to from Dublin. You know - Meath, the county beside Dublin.

Loada shoite, like that Jennifer O Regan in Cork with 7 of them sleeping in the car outside the graveyard. The media have no shame.

    Where's the husband?

Someone said he's "living" in Cloverhill. Another drain on the taxpayer

Maybe she is a just a fan or maybe it's something the fraud unit in the social should look at

    What a complete thick

That's what a lot of people seem to miss when they complain that the refugees get a house straight away. They get it in the Midlands or the West or some smaller town off a motorway. Not an eight bedroom house in the centre of Dublin

The Gardai dont want them there- quickest way to get shot of them, but others may follow
