Did the woman from the housing place not say that the family WERE offered a place to stay but chose not to take it. Did everybody on Liveline not hear that or did I hear her wrong?

the amount of people who have not seen the photo, but it's outrageous anyway ?? Baffling.

Any chance of some balance to all this

People aren't allowed stay in hotels now for fear of offending middle class gullible homeless industry idiots?

I'm fed up with these fraudsters using their children.

How can these callers be so stupid?

How dare these two goons claim that the rest of us should be ashamed .... and they fail to notice the irony that they are staying hotels - that's the sign of a rich country.

Can Anthony Flynn and Nicola provide their addresses for these "victims" to stay?

Why do I get the feeling that we're being manipulated these days? The media and social media in particular is now the weapon of choice for 'activists'. All well enough, but no-one wants to be banged over the head day by day with the same stuff.

I'm fed up listening about the "homeless" crisis in Dublin.
I know there are true homeless cases but at this stage,it's looking a lot like opportunistic queue hopping for social housing.

Why not move to somewhere they can afford?
Perhaps even live within their means!!! The horror if it all.
A lot of these "cases" just want a house 5doors down from Mammy.
The kids always have ADHD or autism etc etc.

Where's all the dads in these sob stories?
    I'm fed up of it.

You're not alone in hearing that. The woman from the Dublin Corpy body was a bit put out on being questioned by the interviewer, the subtext was that the accomodation offered was full of junkies or something.
Whatever, the place was there and on offer and refused.

Plenty of rural communities that could do with more people in their villages/ areas. The state needs to start getting tough, housing is expensive in the urban areas partly from demand by those that are employed and can pay for it. If you're unemployed, on the social etc., and in need of housing, then a policy is needed to provide this elsewhere where it's more affordable for all.
