How do I record on Amiko Mini Combo Extra

I am a pensioner and recently installed an Amiko Mini Combo Extra box.
I tried to follow the instructions about how to record a TV program. I am told to insert a memory stick into the USB socket at the side. But what do I do next. I pressed the record button on the Remote. Is there any simple list of instructions.

After attempting to record I examined the memory stick on my laptop. There was a new file, but it was an Audio File.
