I notice that a lot of people wear their work ID in public, on buses, trains etc. what's the reason for it, is it to give two fingers to the unfortunate unemployed or maybe they're saying 'look at the lovely job that I have' f**k you'

They need to wear it at all times in work and probably forget to take it off.

It's just there all day because it has to be and they get to the point where they don't notice it any more. They just forget to take it off or leave it on until at home, so as not to misplace it.

I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

Yep, they're definitely doing to make people feel bad. No other explanation. Personally, I walk briskly to make old people feel bad about themselves.

It's to fend off the dole scroungers in case they catch a job by accident.

In many workplaces, they act as access fobs and timeclock fobs.

It's easy to forget that you're wearing them.

They become like a wallet, watch or mobile phone. An important piece of equipment, where it's painful to leave them on your desk.

I wear mine in public until I can take it off and put it on the sideboard (same place every evening) til I put it on next day. Otherwise I lose it.

Have to wear mine at times at work. I slip the ID card in my shirt pocket going to and from work.

The most idiotic thing ever, it's like here's the key to the offices of X company, in you go if you take this or find this and you can fleece the place.

Absolutely , I myself would rob Amanda from accounts chair and probably a load of butter from the canteen should I find a random card laying on the street.

    Then it's grand :D

I actually think putting the company name on them risks the safety of every member of staff working in the place, it's like finding a house key on the street with the address attached to it.

Part of the work kit. No disrespect to those who are not currently in work. GET OVER YOURSELF

Last 4 places I worked with such ID's there is no check whatsoever once you had the ID, the larger the company the easier it would be as little chance of a new face being recognised.

I work/worked in more secure places then. Used to it now.
