Gaming build for around 800€?

Hi, I don't wanna bother you with another build thread but unfortunately I'll have to do it.

I want to build the best possible gaming pc for around 800eur, I guess I'll be buying from amazon but im open to suggestions., I'll be needing the following:

- Mother
- CPU
- GPU
- RAM
- PSU
- Case
- SSD

Could you recommend anything?
I used to be crazy about computers but with the age and kids I haven't play a game in ages.

What CPU, RAM and Mobo does your current PC have, even old PC's, if they were high end back in the day, can be worth keeping until they die out these, only thing they let you down on is Power Consumption.

Could make a more balanced build by switching to Ryzen 1600 + use the stock cooler, A320M motherboard (B350M if you want to overclock) and upgrade the GPU to an RX580 8GB or GTX1060 6GB for around the same price or less.

The GTX1060 3GB is slower than the 6GB version and the halved vram already hurts it badly at 1080p ultra settings in some current games compared to the cards with higher vram.

just a mac laptop, last desktop pc i had was in 2011

hi lads ,im looking at a similar (almost identical) build that kiki posted above

can some have a look at these parts and let me know if theyre all compatible

i still need power,video and storage yet but have limit on the card

also is scan ok to be buying from?

@ refusetolose im far from an expert but i dont think you need a 3rd party cooler for that i5 8400 as they dont overclock unless im mistaken then again better cooling is always nice.
Superb gaming cpu even without overclock afaik.

Im sure some of the usual tech guys that are active here will confirm.

Yeah scan are ok.

That was my first thought when I was looking at it last night. Some people by default always bundle in a 3rd party cooler but I don't see the point unless the budget is higher - that's money that would be way better put towards a better GPU, more SSD space, better case, or whatever (in my opinion).

The Intel stock cooler does a fine job for all scenarios except a) the smaller/cramped cases where airflow is limited or b) where overclocking is involved....and of course c) when you've money to spend and you just prefer a nicer looking cooler.

In this case, a 3rd party cooler will add zero tangible benefits to the build, except to look nicer.

Would consider terrorfirmers advice earlier.

3gb GTX 1060 will be a bottleneck soon if not already, depending on games you play. Squeeze the 6gb version into the budget (Amazon.fr and Amazon.it might be cheaper). If budget won't stretch then maybe a Ryzen 5 1600 set up gives you cash back. Check out overclockers.co.uk for ryzen/mobo bundles too.

Or go for RX580 , similar performance/price but offers freesync.

Get the 6gb card for sure. I'd drop the after market cpu cooler for it. 3gb of Vram is really not enough these days. Game devs are pushing 6-8 in most newer games so unless you want textures that look like an impressionist painting go for the 6gb model.

The 580 is even better, 8gb Vram and 3 new free games bundles with it.
