Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Doesn't appear so - maybe some cells to the south - but look at the UK!

Arklow got lashed out of it. Still waiting here in Dublin 13. The wait better be worth it, I want the heavens to open up and let it all out.

Light rain on and off since 8.30pm following two and a half hours of moderate rain beforehand. A total of 9.4mm as of 9.45pm in Durrow. First *proper* rain since the early June thunderstorm.

Did you yourself not mention the Wexford rain shield a week or two ago?Obviously still functioning, for most of the time anyway.

Only lovely, the new spuds are a bit on the small side due to lack of rain.
The Rocking Food Festival is on the bank holiday weekend here in Enniscorthy so I'm hoping the sun comes back after this weekend.

On the same topic i.e.rain. Is anybody familiar with this expression 'it will rain itself out'- when it's raining so much that by the next morning it will have  stopped raining as there won't be any rain left in the sky! I said it to an Englsih friend a while back and I had to explain it. Is it an Irish expression? What would be a 'standard' English equivalent- thanks!

... a measly 3mm. As I feared the Wicklow rain shadow considerably weakened the band of heavy rain that moved up from the south. More rain approaching south Wexford now but I see no reason why there shouldn't be a repeat performance for the Dublin area - in other words, only a few mms.

It’s still raining here in cork. God it’s like all the rain we missed is falling in one day.

There was 1.4mm rain here in Glasnevin about an hour before midnight. Nothing now. 15.4C.

It was lovely last night, as the daylight faded, listening to heavy rain, and hearing the thirsty land drinking deep, and the dessicated roots expanding and reaching upwards.. past the scorched surface...

Still raining; cats coming n dripping wet....

    Reading posts here..

    A healing.

Got 16.4mm from all that rain. Clearing up nicely now. Grass is shooting green sprouts again.

Nature never ceases to amaze me. Two weeks ago my lawn resembled a desert. Now it's actually green again. The sound of the rain falling earlier was actually very pleasant to listen to !!
