Another 'hard cases make bad law' scenario? How many significant bus crashes are there annually where passengers receive injuries that would be prevented by seat belts.

Maybe caller should go India etc where the passengers sit on the roof of the bus and hang out the sides etc.

Sure thing. Can you imagine the mess the belts would be in after a few weeks? I'd not want to use one. There would be an overnight market for take-your-own seatbelt cover to avoid getting stains and grunge from a bus seat belt.
Sheesh, it's bad enough getting in some cars belonging to a a manky git.

So according to herself the bus driver, on say Dublin Bus, should have 3 point belts and the driver stand up at each stop, walk down the ase upstairs and downstairs to check everyone is belted before he moves to next stop.
