“'The Boss has something going on, we keep that as a secret.”

Even the possibility of signing William is bit meh. Anytime seen guy play he's mostly been very average. No way is he worth that kinda money you seen how Barca jumped at the chance of getting Malcolm soon as it became a better deal.

Willian is average. Wouldn't pay more than £35m for him.

Mahrez or Malcom would of been exciting signings, Willian not so much.

Rather play Lingard RW than an overpriced Willian

    - Valencia isn't available for any of the 3 games in US.
    - Not looking to sign any fullbacks
    - Praised Dalot saying probably best young RB in europe
    - Said he would get 2 more players.

So this confirms Jose isn't looking to sign any fullback but said he will get 2 more players. Assuming it's CB and RW.

To embed the YouTube link you just need to put in [you tube] [/you tube] around what you have there instead of media.. obviously without the spaces

    Nevermind :D

The mood here would do a 180 if that's the case.

So is this the secret Zlatan was talking about? Jose said "I would get 2 more players" which is sort of confirmation that signings are close. Maybe it's just he meant to say "He wants 2 more players".

Disappointed if another fullback isn't signed, particularly if Darmian leaves as it means Shaw needs to step up and Dalot needs to to be something special if he is to play first team this season.

Hopefully a right winger and a top level centre back are the two players, with maybe Rojo or Smalling moved on.

Puts a lot of pressure on Lukaku to stay fit and in form though, but hopefully Sanchez will chip I'm with a few more goals.

A lack of a new LB will probably be one of the mayjor contributors to his sacking if he goes next summer, tbh.

Unless, and it's unlikely, the RW option is so amazing, they click the attack into something that can carry us through that glaring weakness.

I get the thinking alright be just say he had to choose between a RW and a LB, I know that I would be choosing a RW all day long, the area of the pitch is needed fully.

Defence wise we are ok with the fullbacks we have, maybe Jose sees that getting a proper RW will give us more in attack than buying a new LB

We all seem to be talking about the attacking element of the need for a FB.. I know in most of Jose’s teams it was up to the wingers to provide the width with the FB there just to support.

    Im rambling now

We are going to see a huge amount of rumours now linking us to loads of names as a result of that interview

Don't agree tsc even before we heard about Valencia been injured and expect more of it our right back is weaker then left back.

Young is more of a threat then Valencia and just as good defensively and Shaw is a more proven backup then dalot and even Darmian if he stays.

If Dalot isn't ready for first team yet we have TFM to understudy/replace Val and next year Dalot can challenge TFM.

There is no point in Darmian unless we loose 3 FB's all from one side at once. Even at that Young can flit right side if there was a crisis on the right or Rojo go left if there was an emergency. Demi Mitchell is another LB, Lindelöf came on as an RB last year iirc in a game.

I just have zero faith in Shaw tbh.

I'd wager that if Young gets hurt, we'll see Dalot play at LB quicker than Shaw.

That’s a good point about TFM, taking it as he will be a back up for RB,CB and DM of things go to **** injury wise, which is a banker to happen at some point

I wouldn't way how good our attack will be based on how good our new LB is. Young is good attacker, better than Valencia. We have few more reasons to believe that there might be change.

Sanchez having full preseason and summer rest. Signing Fred which means we will play 3 man midfield, which gives team more balance in both attack and defense. Lukaku's form and his overall improvement.

Don't think LB was make or break for our attack. It would been good addition.

Edit: Also lack of right wing and ineffective Valencia means, it's easy to defend against us as all teams have to do is shut our left side. With good right winger we will have attacking threat from both sides.

You must think very little of Shaw if you have more fait in dalot playing out of his strongest position :)

I don't see much problem with Shaw as I said I think the two of them are stronger then right back but eitherways right wing is non existent so fix that and we have a chance.

I agree regarding Darmian, and there are young fullbacks that can cover as needed. Would just be disappointing not to start the season with a definite improvement on Valencia, particularly if he is going to be missing games as hinted at.

I do think a RW would improve the team more though and should be the priority.

While an RB all of Dalots senior appearances for Porto have actually been as an LB.

I really dont. I'd play DDG at LB before Shaw tbh. I think it speaks volumes that the club Shaw got linked to this summer was Everton. Its not that no Top tier team were after him, it barely was a Tier 2 team sniffing round.
