That's not him, I'd put money on it.

With the signings this season I'd be disappointed if we don't win a cup.

Three finals in his time here is good going (especially considering we hadn't a sniff of one in donkeys years). Yes it's disappointing we haven't gotten over the line yet but in every one of those games we've been the underdogs. Hopefully that changes this year.

If Jose doesn’t win something or have us playing samba football while finishing at least 2nd and last 8 at least in CL he will be villified and probably sacked. There in lies the different expectations.

I think Liverpool have done some great business and look like there’s a good relationship between club and manager. That really helps when the entire club is moving in the one direction. I’m not convinced the united setup is as smooth and this adds further pressure on the manager.

Thats his wife beside him, other two are his sister and mother.

He skilfully dodged the family photo by being the photographer instead, always a great trick :pac:

Didn’t know they had the speeds for iptv over there :D still on dial up no?

In Monaghan the internet was the lining of a pair of shorts that stops your balls from falling out but In 2004 the entire village collected enough money for me to go to Dublin on a mission to find out what was outside of Monaghan. In 2014,on my return, a pig was killed in celebration of the news I brought them back which spoke of the World wide web. Since then we have stopped making love to our relatives and have discovered Cat Meme's and now iptv... We are so evolved we even have a dealz 😎

There are so many issues at United I just can't see them being fixed.

The football structure at the club is aimless. Not enough people care about the team as a football team.

The Juve fella leaving after 1 season worries me. His appointment pointed to a new dawn at United structurally. Him leaving points to the role he was offered not existing.

Woodward may be great at leading the united business but his leadership of the football side is questionable.

According to Chilean media, Bayern Munich are ready to sell Arturo Vidal. Inter Milan & Manchester United are interested in the player

My guess is this is his agent using us to get a good contract offer.

It’s not real until it’s on Chilevision..

In all seriousness, it’s been reported since before the end of last season by reliable outlets that Bayern were looking to move him on

Ive been saying it for years. As soon as woodward took over we lost the Gill / Ferguson footballing quality that separated owners desire for profits from what the team required.

Woodward has no football pedigree and didn’t have a Ferguson to lead him or break him in. But he’s a glazer man, something Gill wasn’t. Gill could at least argue his case and negotiate for players and targets with authority.

Effectively the only person in a high position at Old Trafford capable of leading the club and fighting for resources for the first team is the manager. Woodward sacked Moyes and LVG in a less then flattering way. It’s not that difficult to let somebody go with a bit of respect.

Players have been signed for reasons other then a manager targeting players. Some possibly even for commercial reasons.

Fans lazily fall back on blaming the manager but I fear the truth could be far worse then that.

Mourinho has more than his own share of the blame.

And while I was VERY vocal about Mourinho being the man to get... Moyes to LVG to Mourinho... What's the commonality of football philosophy? Or the progression of an ideal?

Is there a vision for the club? I don't see a strategy being employed to get United to the top. This summer just a louder example of United either failing to have a strategy or failing to execute it.

A DoF is something I've been calling for since Woodward came in. We need a football structure set up with a vision and power. Woodward is a great corporate Ceo but his football leadership is evidently lacking.

I do fear that the club has fundamentally changed post Gill/Fergie. I initially thought I was just pining for those pair and looking back with rose-tinted glasses but as time goes on I fear the club is more business-focussed. For example, the US tours that I think Jose views as a waste of time.

We torture ourselves hoping the old days will return when in fact the Utd of old is dead.

The US tours are just football, I don't think it would be different under different leadership.

It does feel that the goals of the club have changed, it feels 4th spot is the aim, to be achieved with as minimal investment as needed.

Does it look like United are attempting to win the league, or the CL?

Whats with all the negativity from Jose?

Jebus, this is how he intends going into next season? Another 9 months of whingeing and excuses?

And you can forget exciting football. He has already set up to be a grind at the start without his stars. Then when the WC stars return, of course they'll need time ti get into it, by then they'll be too tired and Jose will be forced to rest them.

    .

I missed it, where's the "whinging and excuses"?

He was honest about it not being great that 8 of our first 11 are missing, which isn't ideal. The transfer window hasn't given him the reinforcements he obviously wants.

Do people want him to put on a big smile and pretend thats brilliant?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,356 ✭✭✭✭Leroy42

The whingeing is what is to come. Just like last year.

3 years now. If he hasn't got the targets then surely he has a list. Or you know, work wirh the world class squad he has.

Jebus, poor MU didn't get the players they wanted yet. He has a great chance to blood new players, try new formations, put pressure on the 1st team regulars.

Instead he basically has said that without his 1st eleven its hard.

This, a year late, is the lead in to a title challenge? This is classic Jose. Poor mouth, sure nobody could expectto win the league with this team.
