Asking questions, that's a good way to find yourself on a list.

Trump, in fairness, is the most powerful man in the free world. Not only is he making America great again, he's made huge strides to bring peace to the Korean Peninsula. Any chance he'd get a boost in the poll for that? Doing wonders for US-Russian relations too.

Vladimir with absolutely no doubt. The guy single-handedly made Russia Great Again. They don't have the military power of years gone by but they make up for that with unconventional guile to re-emerge as a Superpower.

He has also single-handedly been the catalyst of the return of the desire "Strong Man" leadership. For millennia people wanted strong leaders, then came a phase of Husband/Son in Law material with the likes of Clinton and Blair, leading to the likes of Obama, Macron and that Canadian weasel. Those days are done, tried and failed. All were charlatans. The public now desire the devil we know. People like Vladimir, Trump, Duarte and Erdogan. Not nice men, but strong leaders, who fight for their country. We're starting to see this trend in Central and Eastern Europe too.

I think Kim Jong-un would be the most craic to go for scoops with.

Do people genuinely believe all that "strong man" crap? It's a confidence trick. Clearly a successful one. Putin is as much of a charlatan as Blair.

Western leaders are irresponsible, unwise and cowardly. They are socialists now. The electorate in western countries are like spoilt children and are as unprepared for the real world as spoilt children. Using perceived credit worthiness to borrow billions to fund the western way of living cannot continue. The cost of labour in the west is not based on reality.

A couple of lines and half a yolk I reckon old mate Kimmy would be in flying form. Bring in Trumpy, Putin and a few hookers and it's party central:cool:

I'd like to see the reasoning behind Merkel.

I'd go for José Mujica, President of Uruguay 2010-2015. Unlike our smoked salmon socialist president, he spent 13 years in prison for his political beliefs [opposition to the US-sponsored military junta]. He practises what he preaches, which annoys Libertarians and other usual suspects. An individual of rare honour and integrity in politics.

BBC: José Mujica, the world's 'poorest' president

The Guardian: José Mujica: is this the world’s most radical president?

    Wikipedia: José Mujica
Uruguay’s José Mujica lives in a tiny house rather than the presidential palace, and gives away 90% of his salary. He’s legalised marijuana and gay marriage. But his greatest legacy is governing without giving up his revolutionary ideals...

    Is that a rhetorical question.

Depends on the meaning of best. Putin wins on most meanings that don't relate to being a good person.

Uruguay was the best South American country in the 1950, followed by Argentina, Brazil, and maybe Venezuela and Chile. Now the best country is Chile, after decades of right wing governments and policies. The socialists Uruguay and Venezuela and Argentina are going downhill. Brazil is a different story as São Paulo, the richest economy in all SA, and few other productive states have all right conservative governments. Chile is now considered the only SA country that belongs to "first world".
