The Premier League not allowing UK or Irish TV stations to show saturday 3pm games just plays in to the hands of the illegal stream providers. If you are in Germany, France or Spain you can watch pretty much every single 3pm game, why Ireland is lumped in to the UK blackout is beyond me.

Not really most EU countries can only show one 3pm game live but can show the rest full later. This was the premier leagues way to try and cut down on illegal streams a s those trying to get EU tv packages. Countries outside the EU can show all 3pm games

A lot of people will pay it as they always have and a slight increase won't put them off.

The Premiership/Sky/BT are really missing a trick by not showing every game involving the top teams. It won't affect attendances as all the tops sell out practically every game, so there is no logical reason to not show all the big teams.

I have SkyGo with Sky Sports because my dad has an account with them. But I end up streaming more games than watching in a 'legit' way. Barring having otherwise commitments, I want to watch every Liverpool game live, and because of the beauty of the internet I can, so that's what I do.

I'm no fan of Paul Pogba. However, he's had a good game today.

Is it true that Dunphy said he'd retire from Punditry if Paul Pogba won a world cup medal.

Broadcasting all of the games is out of the Premier League's, Sky's and BT's. It's the F.A. who imposed to Saturday 3pm blackout in the 1960s and they did so to protect attendances for lower league clubs after some lobbying from then-Burnley F.C. Chairman Bob Lord.

Mod-thread getting locked and deleted so I can clean it up. NO LINKING TO ILLEGAL STREAMS ON BOARDS.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,898 ✭✭✭✭Ken.

Mod- Thread reopened. I've deleted all posts pertaining to illegal streaming. I'm willing to leave it at that for now(It is a banable offence)*.

Any future posts of that nature will be actioned hard by us the mods in After Hours and maybe even the admins site wide if they haven't been fed and are in a mood.

What a joke. Mentioning legal software is not a crime. Can't believe the moderation on here.

    Qbittorrent.
    Utorrent.
    Transmission.
    Acestream.

Oh no, I'm breaking the law. Boards.ie are going to get sued because legal software was mentioned.

Torrents arent really a viable option for live sporting events

My point is that my post saying Acestream was deleted. (And it by the way does operate on a torrent network. It's just a modified version of VLC.)

The mods may as well delete posts that mention Firefox since it can be used for illegal reasons. Delete all posts mentioning Google as well. Mentioning cars shouldn't be allowed either as people commit crimes with them.

I think the problem might be that there's a thin line between what's legal and what's illegal, what's technically legal, but not morally right, and what's downright piracy.

This is a case of the mods and admins covering their rear ends just in case

Also, you've sky and virgin sponsored forums.

I understand that they're covering themselves but I still find it a bit mad that legal software gets removed. The vast majority of illegal streaming is done via the web browser but we don't have mods removing references to Firefox and Chrome.

There isn't really a fine line at all. Either links to illegal streams are posted or they're not.

amazed the thread got this far, how the hell do forums such as techkings get away with it?

I don't get it either. I mentioned DAZN, which is 100% legal and owned by Perform Group, and that got deleted. They might as well have just deleted the whole thread.

Anyways..... the only thing i really want to see, Feyenoord\the Dutch league, would cost me close to that 170 i guess. And that is without a guarantee i would see every single (home) match of them

    Lets see....

Dublin - Amsterdam v.v €100 (book early enough and it will be cheaper but ok) x17
    Feyenoord season ticket €300
    = €2000

    12 months x €170 = €2040

Yeah.... i dont feel that guilty when watching Feyenoord via a stream.

If you pay for illegal streams; then you will be at risk of being like the owner and his customers like these based in the UK.
