Toyota FJ Cruiser

I’ve taken a liking to these and am thinking of importing one.
Question is,
Do I import from Japan: great spec, rhd, km speedo etc.
or import from OZ/NZ for similar reasons
Or import a LHD from the U.S because they’re dirt cheap there!
All suggestions welcome.

Yes I love the look of them, there was one for sale on Donedeal some months back.

The OZ/NZ model should be easiest to import in that no adaption of headlights or insurance problems should exist with it being RHD. RHD was made from 2010 to 2017. The motor tax on them post 2008 will be €2350, before 2008 will be 'only' €1809.

I believe they have pretty low emissions. Remember seeing one on Donedeal and tax was either €570 or €750

Yep, the tax is eye watering alright. €45 per week.

Seems to be 278.0 g/km, not sure if there's later revisions of the engine with less emissions but if it is below 190 g/km it must be a world first for a 4 litre petrol SUV.

There was an engine upgrade at some point, same capacity but more power AND better economy but I doubt they could knock 90-100g/km off!

You'd be better off buying from somewhere in Europe so you don't get nailed with, Duty, Vat and Vrt, only VRT. What I mean is the emissions on that particular car are claimed to between 171 and 190 whereas the real figure as far as I know is 276.

It's a classified add from a dealer so be pretty safe, you don't commit to buy like a normal ebay auction. You have to go to the dealer to purchase it.
