Who the fúck buys Robert Roberts tea? Seriously, how hasn't "big tea" (lyons and barrys) swallowed them up?
Because proper tea is theft :pac:

OP I bought a Swiss Roll a few weeks after seeing this thread, it was 2euro advertised on the box.Ignoring your post I thought maybe you bought one from a bad batch.
After one bite I throw the whole lot in the bin.
It was exactly as you described. That rotten sugary taste of the cream.

Now I get those Cadbury mini rolls when they are on offer, they taste like the old Swiss rolls.

It almost tastes like sherbert or something. It is a recent change, I bought one last year and it was okay. Just threw the new one in the bin.

Since they changed the box colour/picture at the time I started the thread.

I understand it wasn't anything special before but it's absolutely disgusting like I'm sugar mad but it is so bland and dry it just isn't right at all.

Used to love the Battenburg Log years ago (actually decades ago). It was all about HOW you eat it. Peel off the marzipan first then seperate the four squares. Lick off the jam and eat!

Have flashbacks with that last message - the overwhelming cloying smack of marzipan and overripe battenburg vanilla with Mikado jam - never could stand Battenburg and it was my filks and brothers favourite so I had to go without - a lot!

My favourite is the Pineapple Log but the kast time I got it the chocolate was thin and britle -even the normally chunky bit at end end fIled to excite - the whole baguette what visibly thinner rattling around in the box and bag and the filling was icing-like with no punch - terribly dissappointing . I cant work up the enthuiasm to buy one again - what have they done :(

How do you make a Swiss Roll?

    Push him down a hill

Had some of it a few years ago and thought it was muck but I remember liking it as a kid. Also use to love pineapple log and ginger cake!

My Granny made the real good stuff though. Her homemade sponge cake was like nothing you could ever buy :)

Had some Swiss roll for the first time in many years, the absolute disappointment that came over me that it wasn't what I remember. I remember my grandmother would always have swiss roll and tk lemonade for us

Did you ever get that disgusting TK cream soda by accident? The bottle was similar to the white lemonade.

Yes!!!! Always a tragic mistake greeted with yowls of dissappointment !!

I bought a jamican Ginger cake recently as it was as soggy as a sponge and the shape of a shoe. Imminently delicious but aesthetically impossible to fully enjoy!

I can't say I ever recall having it, was mostly red lemonade we were filled with

:D ye I remember my poor brother came home with it before after he was sent to the shop. The whole family disowned him for about half an hour :)
