Steve Bruce wasn't international standard either

    Oh but he was imo.

Maguire isnt international standard but plays for England.

Bruce was international standard but never played for England.

I don't want us to sign Maguire, we should be aiming for better but he's def not as bad as some people are making out.

I agree, but he is also a major improvement on rojo smalling and at this stage i would say lindelof but maybe a bit early to judge him.

I seen someone say during the world cup that he looks like "no craic". Thats exactly the type of player we need. A big, strong centre back with premier league experience

Lanzini's season being over already is a huge blow for him and the club. Horific injury altogether.

Sure apparently andy carroll ruptured his acl when he was pissed sneaking back into his apartment late via the balcony on west hams pre season camp

Lovern is useless and is in a world cup final :)

To use what others do (wrongly) as a platform for what we as a club should do is also...wrong.

Reports in Italy this morning that we are back in for Perisic. Just the translation of the tweet I seen as I’m on the run at mo
Advanced negotiations between Perisic and Manchester United. Jose Mourinho loves the Inter player very much. Zahavi and Ramadani will move soon to advance on the transfer.

I can kinddddd of see their logic. It is rather telling though that the largest union for those workers is having none of it.

You mean the fiat group that owns Ferrari that spends probably a billion pound a year on its formula 1 team that they won't complain about because they love Ferrari in Turin. ;);)

Not desperate for us to sign Maguire, but he has been very impressive.

Still not sure we desperately need him though. Full-backs and RW are still my top priorities.

Maguire is grand. He's about the level we currently have maybe marginally better than some of our options. The huge issue is hes now "World Cup Star Harry Maguire" and his price tag has balooned far far beyond his actual ability level. For what Maguire would now cost we could spend that same amount on a far better player.

We will probably have all the tour 18 stuff on mutv from Monday.

I heard he is regarded as one of the best CB in the world. However, my source was Lovren.

Chelsea officially sack Conte.. don't think Jose will be losing his hair over that decision.

Although left sided, he is far more a traditional style winger than Sanchez.

Maybe Jose feels he could play Peresic left wing, and Sanchez in a free/central role off Lukaku.

Don't think so Mitch. If we had right wing sorted maybe he would try that but surely he couldn't buy another left sided player and still start season with Valencia and Mata looking after our right.

Perisic would be good, he seems like a player who would drive on a team with his attitude and get more out of the players around him.

He's a very good player but just don't see a place for him in the team now.

But sanchez always drifts to the left, dont think it makes sense to sign him. We need a right sided player

Before moving to Arsenal, Sanchez was RW though so could see an imterchanging three of Perisic Lingard and Sanchez behind Lukaku or Sanchez and Perisic either side of Lukaku in a 3

I think with the signing of Fred it will be 3 man midfield so that only really leaves a position open on RW with Sanchez and Lukaku taking up the other 2 places in a front 3.

As I said though, Sanchez can play on the right, very well in fact
