I think that’s unfair. It implies then that people who are crisis for his performances at Utd think he is actually a poor player and are being justified by (theoretical) poor performances for France.

I don’t think anyone has said that about Pogba and that is the frustration with him and his time at Utd.

That’s the whole point of the view “I don’t care how he performs for France” or more accurately what I said “I’m not delighted for Pogba..”

If anything it adds to the frustration of his performances at Utd.

I want all the players at Utd to play well for the club. Even if I moan about them or don’t rate them or don’t think they are good enough for the team, whatever, I’d be more satisfied to see them do well and prove my points wrong than somehow feel some sort of vindication for my views on them on an anonymous Internet forum and somehow being proven right.

I don't think it's unfair but then again I posted it.

For me that's how I feel it is with fans opinions with footballers. Sure not so long ago people used the fact Martial wasn't picked by France for the WC during the debate regarding his future with us.

Many people argue that Juventus made Pogba look better than he was, and many argue that he isn't arsed or doesn't give it his all when playing. I fully believe that if he stunk it up at the WC, his performances would be used as further proof for the above. So for people to disregard his good performances with France due to the fact that it's not for us I don't buy.

Also the majority of posts on social media is all about people getting vindication for their view. Likes, thanks, shares, etc. Maybe well just have to agree to disagree but I don't think it's anything new in football. Sure when Rooney scored with Everton you bet pro-Rooney debaters were posting in here.

I thought you were talking about this thread and not social media as a whole and was commenting in kind to that.

Zero optimism for the coming season.

We needed a big summer, to stand up to the challenge City put down and.... Nope. 4 weeks to turn it around but nothing indicating United see the problems let alone are going to go big to address them.

One first team addition to a team that was miles away from the quality levels needed.

Big part of it is mourinho himself. I have no expectation that he will turn United into a side that are exciting to watch. Don't feel anyone at the club really cares about winning the league.

If i was Jose, I'd be a little pee'd off at how well Pogba played this evening. Disciplined performance. There was no taking on three fellas and losing the ball, no flicks over his head just inside his own half. He marked well at corners. Jose moved heaven and earth last year to accommodate him and he could do it all along.

Do agree but I'd only be angry if he goes back to his recent United form next season.

I never bought any of this stuff about formation and players around him and falling out with the manager as an excuse for his recent form for us There are people that reckon he is a future United captain well if your that the club comes first no matter who the manager is you give it your all on the pitch.

He simply wasn't putting in the effort for us.

Pogba was excellent tonight but my god he was up against a shocking dembelle.

As for Martinez, take Chadli off corners after the 20th one couldn’t beat the first man. Martens was good when he came on would take him on the right if he’s up for free. Serious crosses in at the end

Pogba dominated dembele tonight but he also won Arial duels against fellaini that takes some doing. He was all over the pitch.

I see talks that Juve are after Marcelo now.

Would surely open the door for Sandro.

Why wouldn't he be? Why does it matter? Would be better if he was in the Maldives?

RT have a big presence in England afaik.

Jose does sound slightly like he is saying that is how he wants Pogba to play all the time but he doesn't. Fred has been signed now to play that role so we'll see how that turns out.

Pogba might find it a lot easier to get motivated and focused for a short world cup run including a semi final clash against Belgium than a handful of PL fixtures against mid-table opposition.

I see online it is saying the team jet off to America on the Sunday. So if England did actually get to the final and win it they're going to miss out on the madness in Manchester.

Odds on Shaw to "lose" his passport? :pac:

Maybe France also have a better mix of character than United and it forces Pogba to get in line. That along with the small time frame would create a focus.

Guys like Kante, Varane are strong in attitude, Griezemann and even Giroud are selfless for the cause.

There is also the bitterness of what happened in the Euro's to drive him (and them) on.

I think we could all get guilty of over-analysing it.

Pogba is considered a key figure and one of the leaders of that French team. He's getting a lot of praise and no doubt on cloud 9 helping bring his country to a World Cup final.

But there is so much differences that trying to nail down one seems pointless. Different teams, tactics, players, atmosphere, media, coaches, timeframe, opposition, motivation, the list goes on and on.

Pogba has shown his ability for us but the main criticism is people want to see it consistently for the entire year. All we can do is enjoy his performances for his country now and hope they carry over to when he returns to us.

Pogba seems to be the main man in the dressing room and the real captain on the field. A bit like lukaku with belgium.

Pogba was shouting and instructing players last night and tore into mbappe when he tried to run the ball down the wing instead of clearing it

United being linked with a move for 17 year old Erling Braut Haaland - would put that on the 'unlikely' list. If United are genuinely interested then I would guess so are a lot of other clubs and the son of Alf-Inge is probably gonna pick someone else over Manchester United!

Didn't he refer to United as scum even before Keane's tackle on him....I'd say it's unlikely too but who knows these days!
