My A6 2014 has this as an option in the MMI.

However, I'm not sure what I need to do to set it up? Do I need to buy a PAYG SIM and add it into the slot in the dashboard?

Would it use a lot of data? Rang 2 Audi garages and neither seems to know much about it....

Have you registered for myAudi yet? Seems to be further details on that.

Yeah, I'm registered and have a PIN to enter on the MMI but I can't get into the Audi Connect in the MMI without a SIM.

The Audi dealers have been poor in regards to this. I get the impression they don't know much about it as they pass me on to other people who promise to ring me back but never do.

The SIM slot is usually in the glovebox - might be worth sticking your phone SIM in there, seeing if you can get it working that way, and whether it's any use. If it is, you can get data only SIM's from a few different places.

The SIM slot in mine is beside the SD card slots under the CD slot. There's a little spring loaded flap that pops up.

Great idea. I might try that.
