Found OSS. It was mentioned in passing in the slides for BL session 6.6.

The example cases are Facel facilities and Black and White Foods. I'm off to make sure it doesn't come up in August by preparing for it...:p

the part on construction contracts seems to be taken from the 2016 mock sim which was also about lift operators

I'm getting pretty annoyed now. Black and White doesn't cover it, and the other case doesn't seem to exist. I can't find anything about it in the strategy text or the information management book. Doing a search for OSS in all the material I've downloaded from the CAI website only shows the solutions to two cases where the only mention is the an OSS should be undertaken.

I'm off to watch the BL 6.6 lecture to see if it sheds any light on it. Here's the 'relevant' slide:

IMPLEMENTATION OF STRATEGY6.6 Business Information Systems (BIS)
    • IMP previously one of the Super Six
    • Downgraded for 2015
    • Not asked in 2015, 2016 or 2017
    • Very unwise to presume that will continue
    • Focus in the past heavily on the need to changes systems, prepare an OSS, choose between two competing systems
    • Now watch for IMP incompatability with strategy
    • Facel Facilities good example
    • Can be blended in to so many other subjects

Nothing in the recorded lecture. Apparently Facel is in the self study pack (it isn't).

I have been the same, printing notes and doing a small amount of study based on the topics that are coming up for the mocks. I am studying 7 - 7 with two 30 mins break and 1 hour break. I have done up a study plan for the next 9 weeks. I am doing a case study every morning (alternating each day with super 6 and elective case study) and then in the afternoons I am going to update my notes based on the case study and also cover off some gaps in my knowledge.

That's a lot in one day. Wow.

Is the OSS indicator just where you need to describe what specifications an IT accounting system for this industry should contain? E.g. integration of systems, fit for purpose, along those lines etc.. hope so!

Hadn't a clue what to do with the construction contracts/provision element. Definitely something I'll have to look at.

Same, very rusty on IAS 11

I got my financial reporting notes together, and I was able to get by with them (I hope).

That's what I did anyways - I saw it in a note pack that had been sent around in prior years.

Does anyone have any good checklists to bring into the exam for questions like corporate governance, ethics etc

How did people find yesterday. I found it easier than the comp, not that I am saying the sims were easier! I have been happy with my timings for the comp and the sims, which was my main objective. I found that having a template for planning and writing down at what time I had to complete each indicator by really helped me out.

How are people fixed for tomorrow?

I'm not surprised since you are doing literally 12 hours a day, I mean, if you don't get 100% after that there's something seriously lacking. Since I'm busy having a social life etc, I am not fixed for tomorrow.

Now is not the time to compare social lives
    it's when resits are on
, now is the time to realise what we don't know. Like what to put in exam folders, how to find anything on the website and what the hell the announcements during the mocks are saying.

I’ve genuinely never seen a bigger dick measuring contest as I have in this thread, honest to goodness.

Is there some avenue for feedback? These are the first mocks I've bothered showing up to so I have no idea.

The other mocks were grand. It’s just that the FAE is run by a different team. I got an email yesterday reminding me to do a survey

I find it really peculiar that you ask questions then you don’t answer when I reply.

I'd be very happy if an exam like the audit mock today came up in August.

So would I. I just hope it is not a false sense of security!

Depends on the class. They email details of the venue ahead of time.

Only on street (metered) parking near LL as far as I know.
