Yeah home screen much better. Now have apps on top ordered kodi, netflix, youtube. Then netflix kids features, youtube features, and news features. Nice to be able to turn off Nvidia's channel and all the other stuff I don't use.

Read in the notes there's a new feature to reconnect bluetooth devices in settings rather than needing to remove/re-pair which might be nice the 2 times a year I mysteriously need to do this.

Updated this but noticed some indication about audio playback, I just have it going from shield to tv via hdmi, now some of movies I am playing there is no audio. any idea how to change it back, to the previous audio way? Turned off cec and still cant find it.

Shouldn't have upgraded. One of my boxes is now on the crappy new youtube app and I don't think I can downgrade to the old, better one. :mad:

Without side-loading it, does anyone know why I can't install GTA 3 to my shield.

From the Play Store website I can send installation to my phone but the shield is grayed out for some reason.

It's advertised on the Nvidia Shield website to be compatible: https://shield.nvidia.com/games/android/gta3

It's most likely how GTA 3 categorised it on the Play store as not being compatible with your device. I'd try the support of both to ask, given nVidia advertised it.

You can get a custom ROM like Resurrection Remix or LineageOS but I haven't tried it.

New update a step backwards, I could I play my dji clips from sd card before update by restarting now it has sleep only, cant accesses sd card.

Gonna try flashing a stock image of version 6.3 when I do a little more research to ensure rolling it back won't brick it!

God the new YouTube is so ****. A perfect example of when business trumps the user experience. Everyone using YouTube on their **** smart TVs can't run the old YouTube the shield used to have so they force us to use a gimped one optimised for crap smart TVs so they can save a few quid.

I don't think the price justifies the difference. So no would be my opinion.
Unless you plan on doing a lot of gaming on it (Specifically local gaming).
You can pick up a 128GB USB 3.0 key (for example) for roughly €30 now and add that as storage if that is what you are looking at.

KODI Performance is much better after the update, moving through plugins in miles faster than it was previously.

New Youtube app doesn't bother me as I was using the app from phone anyway.

Yeah, I didn't notice any difference either. Figured people were maybe overreacting to some minor change

In other news, anyone need 3 months of free Plex Pass? New Plex Pass customers only.
