A belief in gender identity involves a level of faith as there is nothing tangible to prove its existence which, as something divorced from the physical body, is similar to the idea of a soul. - Colette Colfer

Time spent playing computer games. There's even a condition identified in the past week or so.

Being forced to raise our children through childcare will have a social effect in years to come I reckon. Long days.

Vacuous reality TV like 'love island' and the Khardashians that contribute to lower IQ's in those who habitually watch them. They will need to come with a warning certificate rating in the future for this reason alone.

I'm surprised no one has said

"Liberal PC stance on gender and parenting"

Maybe it might be a fad but it could potentially have serious consequences in the future

Could extend that to trusting the pharmaceutical industry. So many drugs for everything and new conditions (ADD) inverted so they can sell a pill to relieve the condition!!!!

E cigarettes hopefully. I say hopefully because those fucking gobshites walking around vaping everywhere, even in shops, with massive clouds of smoke around them need to be brought down a peg or two.

Think it'll be a mental health thing as opposed to a physical health thing, and I'd agree that phones and social media will be up there.

    The answer is SUGAR.

I've been off it eight weeks today. I'm down two stone in that time.

It'll be the "Our bodies are a mess from all that protein and weight lifting but I can't run for 10 seconds" generation

In-ear/earbud headphones. A spike in hearing problems is due when the current generation grow old, in my opinion.

The dangers of sitting at a desk all day. Again, a spike in back pain and atrocious posture/hunch-back being a lot more common.

Social Media. That is definitely having a massive negative effect on people's mental health.

Smart phones in general, actually. I can't imagine starring at the LED screen can be doing us any favours.

So this is stuff we don’t really know is bad for us today

Smartphones and sugar replacements like nutrasweet I reckon

    Sugar we know is bad
    Plastic is bad
Vaping is bad but I reckon it will hold true that it is better than smoking

Sound systems in concerts, pubs and clubs. Lots of them probably exceed noise levels on construction sites.

I've been going to shows for 40 years. The sound levels are tame (today) compared with what they were back then.

(I'm not saying that they are all that way)

Ear protection is much bigger at shows today. No one thought about it in my earlier years. I have a set of molded ear plugs (designed for people who do a lot of shooting) that I carry with me to the 100+ shows that I see in a year.

I've friends who can't sleep without a "white noise" machine due to the seriousness of their Tinnitus.

You can also tie the use of ear buds in with mobile phones as well.
