    Journey looks good alright.

    When are academy places announced?
Who knows. Can vary year by year. Could be in next few weeks though likely to be some time in August

You'd think with the lack of a squad, it be sooner than later and inline with Pre-Season?

The players will know and will be involved in things already. Just wont necessarily be a press release about it.

Ulster need to figure out which players need to skip the academy and go straight into the senior team when our [lack of] signings are finalised.

It's the Ulster way.... it deliberate chaos, start the season on a low with no hope and things can only improve....
Some decisions just show amateur hour! Scholes should of been brought back even on his poor form.

I'd say Lowry is going to get a wee promotion.

Won’t be the only academy player id say! O’toole, Curtis? Seriously concerning lack of signings/experience in squad now!

I'd say there'll be a good few occasions where Ulster are fielding a glorified A team in the league. It really is ridiculous.

Not being argumentative, but isn't he tiny? Something like 5'7" and nineteen years old right? Isn't there a duty of care to look after guys who may not be physically ready for Pro 14?

You'd like to think so. Curtis isn't the tallest, but was hitting well above his weight during the 6nations. It is worrying having the academy players potentially parachuted into the senior team. Realistically most could do with a year of pure S&C.

Height is fairly irrelevant, unless he is 5'0" obviously.

It may stop him becoming an international, but I don't see why it should stop him playing professionally. He certainly looked well able for the physical side of things for the U20s yesterday.

Interesting to hear our new signing Addison is supposedly down in Sydney with the Ireland camp!

Can't say I know much about Addison, bar his injury profile. The majority of people say his versatility is good with little or no drop off in performance when changing position.

I don't know a huge amount about him but he can play 11-15 and kicks goals too. I could see why Schmidt would be interested in having a look at him 15 months out from the RWC.

Looking at the current squad of 31, you'd say there's absolutely room to leave out someone like Ross Byrne and bring a utility back.

Well at least that means he hasn't been hand picked by Ulster! could be on to a winner.

Ludik? I know he's injured but he can cover wing, 15 and centre at a push. Plus he gives it 100% every single time. He's like an ulster McFadden.

Rumour has it Ludik has a similar injury to that of Paul O'Connel in the RWC, hamstring ripped from the bone. Worry he may never recover...not to add more Ulster gloom.

Take that with a pinch of salt was mentioned on UAFC while back! But he has been severely underrated!

    We've signed a lock....

Looks familiar, not sure if this is more for the A's or to bolster AIL. But we have transfer movement finally.

Interesting. I wonder what has changed since he was released a year or two ago.

But you badly need to come up with a better nickname for him.
    Alexander “Thompo” Thompson
is not so much a nickname and more of a typo.

    Alexander “Thompo” Thompson
    is a fairly pitiful effort.
Ironic considering he was considered a little soft.

A year playing 1A rugby may have helped sort that out a bit.
