Yes. Yes we can. Unfortunately. Have proven it before.

Does anyone know what Donal Moloney did to get this proposed ban during last Sunday's win over Tipp?

    I can't, sorry.

Clare have made two changes for their Munster Championship match against Limerick. Seadna Morey comes in for David Fitzgerald and Podge Collins is in for Conor McGrath. On a separate note there is no Cian Dillon involved in the match-day 26. Does anyone know why?

great win today against a fairly solid limerick team , the most pleasing aspect has got to be the physicality stakes has improved all over the field , cathal malone might not obtain the greatest set of skills in the world but having him at 9 is vital , we dont have anyone of his height available to play in the middle at the moment and even just breaking the ball for galvin reidy or kelly can be huge , playing kelly at 11 and conlon at 14 is also smart management both players are playing at there suited positions and and both are early all star contenders also

jamie shannahan was excellent today especially in the second half where he doped back as sweeper , limerick were getting a grip on the game halfway through the second half jamie won two or 3 loose balls that led to scores down the other end of the field and set up the win , the half back line as a whole is starting to look strong now also , the most improved two players on the panel since the start of the championship would have to be jack browne and pat o connor both had excellent games again today as did the ever relent david mc

the 1st of july in thurles is the date to put several ghosts to rest against cork , its long over due that we finally get the better of them

    clare scorers

    peter duggan 0-13 (10f)
    tony kelly 0-5
    john conlon 0-4
    david fitzgearld 0-2
    colm galvin 0-1
    jamie shannahan 0-1

Yeah very good win today, 26 points to 15 is as convincing a win as you get nowadays in Munster. I said last week that I hoped our battling win against Tipp would stand to us, and I think it did. We had to grind out that win for most of the game, Limerick set up very deep but the forwards really worked their socks off, got some hard earned frees and took some good scores. There's been a few improvements in our team this year from last year; our forwards are working much harder and are more physical, having an excellent freetaker, Duggan and Conlon's bully boy form, Touhy assured in goals, more compact at the back, etc. The management deserve credit for fixing some of last years issues, but there is still much, much more in this Clare team. When the game loosened up in the second half today, you just knew we would win, I'd back this team to beat anyone in an open game of hurling. Galvin x2, Podge, Kelly, Duggan, Conlon with Shanahan quarterbacking from the back really put Limerick to the sword late on.

Just a couple of other things:

Davy Mc needs to settle himself down a bit, he is not in the half back line anymore. He is brought back to stop his man scoring and pass the ball out when he gets it. He doesn't need to be going on these runs out, or throwing these 30 yard crossfield stick passes.

Pat O'Connor is playing some of his best hurling and is showing great leadership. Very happy for him as he was always an excellent stickman we saw from a young age.

And speaking of stickmen, I think Shanahan is the best stick passer in the county. His deliveries are excellent and is an important player for us now. Being the extra man helped but still.

I think Cleary and Malone have important roles in this team, I didnt think either played particularly well, but they are effective. They may not be easy on the eye as hurlers, but every team needs guys with a physical presence to hold their position and win the ball. They compliment the aforementioned pacey, skillful, loose players we have in abundence.

As I said, Duggan and Conlon are having great years. Conlon definitely spooked Limerick today, especially with Kiely bringing on McCarthy to mark him, they actually pretty much double marked him with Casey. But the two big lads up front for us are putting in huge shifts and are causing teams all sorts of difficulties.

Ian Galvin had another good cameo, our subs were good once again today.

Yeah the team as a whole is starting to take much better shape now. We are holding tight at the back with Cleary sitting there and Malone in front working like a dog if anything loose breaks out. Up top we are working hard but Duggan and Conlon are excellent outlets for the backs. Those two bring a serious presence up front, hopefully Shanagher too in the future can be the same too. Overall though it was good to see us using the ball better and not take stupid pot shots and wides.. I think Shanahan and Galvin are having a good influence in how we use the ball.

The team has some good momentum now heading to Thurles on July the 1st. Looks like we are timing our run well this summer.

also the outlet of duggen and conlon alows us as you say to have someone to aim for , this time last year we were reduced to taking pot shots from out the field , the bones of 17 wides we hit in last years munster final were from angles out the field wheres this year them balls are been doped in and won regularly , a large portion of our scores came from close range today

shane o donnell will probably start the next day, but dispite his lack in form i would prefer to see mcgrath start alongside conlon and podge , i expect to david reidy to start also the next day i seen a video on twitter which shows he didnt deserve a yellow let alone a red

The support (or lack of) for the team in Thurles last year was disgraceful.
I hope the county gets fully behind them on July 1st, 2018! HON THE BANNER!

Agree numbers terrible at the final last year but until this year, clare have done nothing since 2013 expect beat a division 2 team in the championship. You are always going to struggle for support when you keep under-performing.

That said with the new structure Clare support base should increase as people will get into the habit of going to home matches and the odd away match esp the limerick one.

I would imagine the final is a dead cert for Thurles?

I'd be amazed if it wasn't on in Thurles, maybe Limerick at a push but I can't see Cork agreeing to that.

Where you getting that from, afaik the meeting on tonight to decide?

    It'd be Thurles I'd say
    Can't be Cork
And cork won't agree to Limerick, plus it'd be in a little bit in Bad taste :D

Rumour going around yesterday was that Cork were promised both Munster finals this year but I can't see Clare going back down there.

With the new format they are guaranteed 2 home games a year, shouldn't be the same financial need as might have been with the old format.
