That's an impressive win given the ridiculous inconsistency of the ref making it way more competitive than it should have been.

    Well deserved win.

It's when you've a victory behind you that you should be complaining about bad refereeing like that.

    Atrocious.

    Thank god for that.

Now let us never see that referee ever, ever again under any circumstances.

I'm delighted with that performance. I think we really stepped it up a gear.

Niall Scannell, really impressed. If he can stay fit for the next 15 months, I'd be more than comfortable with him starting. Solid at the lineout, and carried really well.

Garry Ringrose was superb, his defence is great and he's a really classy playmaker. His distribution is top quality, and Henshaw inside him really benefits from it and allows him to bring his game along too.

POM is a machine. One of the best performances from an Irish backrow I've seen in a long time.

Murray had a couple of blunders and some errant passes. He seemed a lot more comfortable with Sexton outside him, but still doesn't seem to be firing on all cylinders.

You serious? If Ireland weren’t involved in this game I’d still call, that an awful referring performance in the 2nd half.

Who did Cooney come on for?

    Ireland well deserved that win.

Reffing is increasingly a serious problem in Rugby. There are refs out there who clearly shouldn't be anywhere near the pitch and have a track record of suspect decisions but there seems to be no new refs coming through to replace them.

But why, taking into account the 3 deliberate knock ons alone. What made one a yellow card and the other 2 not?

Ireland can't give this ref any excuse now, because he will reel that score in.
Can we stop with this please. Yes the ref has made a couple of calls that didn't go our way. But stuff like this is just unneeded and poor taste.

No. People can voice their frustration at inconsistent refereeing as this most certainly was. If you want to backseat mod, go right ahead but I stand by my opinion.
Ireland needed to give themselves that 12 point cushion.

Right, Williams was absolutely atrocious in the second half after a good first half.

However, he was doing exactly what we called for last week, someone to ping Hooper and Pocock.

Where on Earth were our captains? POM was far, far too quiet and didn't put any pressure on him. There is no way Rory Best would have let the ref away with what POM did. Look what happened for McGrath's yellow, it came off the back of Hooper getting into his face after a number of Aussies protested. We were far too timid and too nice in this area.

    Fantastic win.

But one that never should've been as close as it was. We make too much work if scoring trys. Need to be much more clinical.

We won but I am absolutely disgusted at the reffing performance. One of the most biased reffing performances I have ever seen in my life. When I see comments like that I usually roll my eyes at the hyperbole, but its absolutely true in the case and I stand by it 100%.

However you are absolutely right. We are too laboured at times in attack. If we have one weakness its a lack of a rapier cutting edge. Nothing could more clearly illustrate the difference between us and New Zealand than our bluntness in attack.

    Delighted with that win.

But found myself shouting "FŮCK YOU REF. MUST BREAK YOUR ****ING HEART TO BLOW THAT FINAL FŮCKING WHISTLE"

    Not my finest moment.

Consistently penalising on their own 5 meters line, Deliberate knock on and no card and the reverse is a card for Ireland.

    Ref had an absolute nightmare

Like any match, there were bad decisions for both sides. I don't think the ref had any bearing on the outcome of the game, in any case.

Both teams were quite wasteful with opportunities they created.

I suggest a visit to specsavers Basil, because if you cant see the problems out there you are absolutely blind. Dare I suggest that if the All Blacks were on the receiving end of that kind of reffing bias it would be very visible to you indeed.

Good to get the win but we just about did it.
Wallabies are so dangerous when they move the ball. They are definitely an improved team. Their scrum has improved a lot and if they can improve their discipline they will be a match for anybody.

Great that we have a deciding game. Wallabies will probably lose Genia with that injury. He would be a big loss to them.

Just tuning into this thread, watched the game without any outside influences. Very surprised by no cards for Aus for technical offences (dumping the guy on his head was a no-brainer, pardon the pun) and not checking a double movement for Toupou. Wasn't close enough to see the clearing out at the ruck.

TLDR Independently came to the view that the reffing was one eyed.

Foley and McGrath's incidents were hardly on par with each other.

Superb performance. Enough said about the referee so I won't bother.

Murray and Sexton were class. So assured and slick. For Earls break (when Kearney supported and they infringed under their sticks) I honestly didn't even see the pass, it was so deft.

POM turned in his best showing in green since...I don't know when. Outstanding. Curious that he was the one called ashore early both weeks. He was completely outplaying Stander who was workmanlike. POM's absence was notable after he went off although Murphy had one great penalty win.

Some praise for one or two of the supporting cast. Scannell and Herring were very good. That's the best Scannell has been in months and at a higher level than he has possibly ever played. And another guy with a lot of criticism, Rob Kearney, was near flawless. Very cool at the back, fielded everything, bounced a couple of defenders, supported well, linked with Larmour out wide. Just a very tidy showing.

Furlong was potentially MOTM along with POM although Sexton probably in the conversation too. Ryan and Toner were just very efficient although some line out hiccups will bug Toner rightly although Australia competed very well in the air.

Oh, and no doubt whatsoever who our first choice 13 is. We looked so much smoother. And one superb read in their 22 late on shut them right down when trying to get wide from deep.

Who was it who appeared to rake Healy across his face in a tackle?

Definitely a need for rules around persistent infringing that are not open to interpretation.

Something definitive like 'third penalty in a row for your team results in a YC'.
