Is it possible to watch season one only or is there a cliffhanger? And does the second season end neatly enough that you could bail out?

Season one is brilliant and there was absolutely no need to go any further, I was very surprised that a second season was being produced.

Anyways I didn't watch season two because of the poor reviews but would still recommend watching the first.

    Recently I watched
'Occupied' .... crap. Totally implausible. No outstanding performances by anyone. The end was a non event.

'London spy'... crap. Again implausible, and a failed attempt to create some sort of mood/artistic flow. The dialogue was interesting at times, when there was any...but that's about it.

Fauda- season 2. Excellent, riveting. Didn't want it to end. Fantastic performances especially by unknown actors , such as Shadi Mar'i .. who played Walid. I found his acting mesmerising, yet there is little mention of him anywhere in the media.

Episodes .. entertaining; witty; clever dialogue in places. Clever and humorous exploration of certain recurring themes/challenges that crop up in life.

It’s a total cliffhanger, I supppose in theory you could skip to the last episode in season 2!

Yep there’s a clean break at the end of 2

3 sounds like a ridiculous cash in

Sorry about this, I get more and more confused sometimes wondering what series people are talking about here.

What program are you talking about here?

    Thanks

Finished the Alienist. While the production was great, and the cast were good, I felt the story was weak and got weaker towards the end. Pity, there was a lot of promise there. Maybe a second season could develop it further.

Love the setting, that Knick / Gangs of New York kind of vibe.

That's a film, not a series - I'm quite chuffed Netflix have picked this up as I saw it listed in the Edinburgh Film Festival lineup but can't make it to the screening.

I watched the staircase before and really enjoyed it but I'm wondering if this version is padded out or is it a few new episodes?
Iv no real interest watching it again so could I watch the last 2 or 3 ?
Is that the new content or has it all been reedited?

The first 8 episodes are the original episodes from 2004. Episodes 9 & 10 are from 2013 and were originally shown as one full length documentary called Last Chance. Episodes 11 to 13 are new episodes.

Watched Edge if Seventeen mainly cos of woody and decent reviews. It didn’t disappoint! Sweet film, great soundtrack too. The lead slightly overdoes it in a Juno sort of way Ellen Page style but it’s worth a watch.

This week i watched white gold. British comedy set in the 80s with actors recognisable from the Inbetweeners. Very funny. Good soundtrack too.
I also watched the 3 part documentary on the Paris attacks. What an awful situation.
Also watched vacation (2015) which was a remake of the original movie with Chevy chase. My fave movie as a kid and the remake was crap as expected.

Just finished 3rd and final episode of November 13th
It's one of if not the best documentaries I've ever watched .
Very well made and so moving .

Found ep1&3 better than 2 as they focussed a little bit more on the impact of everyone involved more (firefighters , police etc)

A very tough watch at times - the mobile phones bit really got me - but excellent
    Je t'aime Paris :(

Watched this over the last few days, its very powerful and highly recommended. Up there with the best thing I've watched on Netflix, no question.

    Watched "It follows".

With the release of "Hereditary", The Guardian had a list of the most scary horror films, along with the usual suspects, The Shining, The Exorcist, Dead Of Night, it included this 2014 scary movie.

They also mentioned it was based on an M.R. James short story "Casting The Runes"

With all that, I couldn't resist.

    And what a disappointment.

    Scary? No

Ground breaking? I don't think so.

    A sub-par teen slasher movie.

Hooked to The Staircase. Should finish it tonight, after starting yesterday :D

Highly recommended. It’s slow yes but in a good detailed way, not the boring way some others are drawn out.

What a fvcking mess the US justice system is.

I watched The Staircase last year when it was on YouTube. Rubbish quality but worth it because it was incredible viewing. I’ll give the new episodes a bash. I scratch my head to all the various theories floating around, like the owl thing; to me it seems fairly straightforward what happened.
Anyway, I started Breaking Bad last night. Going by comments on here I was expecting it to be a grower and a slow burner and takes a while before you get hooked, absolutely not the case for me, I was hooked from the get go!

Can people please spoiler tag anything about the staircase i havent finished it yet!

First episode of Breaking Bad is brilliantly put together. Middle aged man wearing a gas mask, tearing through a desert in camper van whilst only rocking a pair of y fronts.

I wouldn't go calling it a slow burner myself.

Breaking bad was immaculate start to finish for me.

Enjoy Anna you lucky slow person.

100% agree, complete rubbish definitely the biggest let down I've had from this thread.

Think we are probably getting one side of the story like Making a Murderer.

100% but the ridiculous prosecution errors and cheating in both cases is plain to see.

Just watched Mindhunter over the past few nights. Really enjoyed it!

In the mood for another meaty Netflix binge now!

I just finished The Staircase after starting it yesterday. Found it utterly compelling. A fantastic documentary. Never could get into Making a murderer or the Jinx but this had me gripped from the get go.

Like Peterson said he always thought, to paraphrase, if someone is arrested then they're guilty. Thats how I felt for the first few episodes. Then I kept watching.

    10/10

Definitely, here's some of the stuff that was left out of the staircase

    http://www.peterson-staircase.com/

The filmmaker Jean-Xavier de Lestrade seems the think the only reason Peterson was charged with murder was because he's bisexual and been prosecuted in a conservative state :D

Nothing at all to do with his wife obviously been bludgeoned to death and Peterson been the only other person in the house at the time :)
