I'd imagine if it were 4k then it would be advertised as such, being a big selling point of TVs these days.

For €50 extra you will get this 4k version with a 6 year warranty delivered:

Does anyone know what the model number of this TV is? Trying to work out if it's a 4K TV or not - good price if it is, no?

    Nope not 4K

"Full HD 1080p delivers incredible clarity and vibrant colours

    Resolution 1920x1080 pixels"

Unless they've messed up the spec, no it is not.

    It's not 4K, it's 1080p.

It's probably this one: http://www.lg.com/uk/tvs/lg-43LK6100PLB, RRP seems to be €500, but everywhere is selling it off for about €370, meaning that it's gone end-of-life.

So not a ground-breaking deal, but if you want a 43" HD TV you could do worse.

I definetly wouldn't be hung up on 4k on a tv that size. You won't be able to notice the difference between full HD and 4k

I would,as kids Xbox one X would needs 4k to really bring games to life ,I'm on the look out for a 32 inch 4K tv (alcove is exactly 33 inches, small room,so big TV is out if the question)

Add another 22 inches on to that TV size and you get the minimum size needed to notice anything.

    55 inches.

And then you have to sit within 6 feet I think it is with 20/20 vision etc.

I think that TVs are measured on the diagonal across the screen - so you will be able to get a bigger TV into the alcove than what you were expecting.

Max probably would be 37" and that's not a size that is available, so 32" for that poster is largest option.

I bought. 55” 4K HDR tv, no noticeable difference watching 4K, but HDR via Amazon is amazing,. Someone more educated on this can answer better as to why. You can’t get HDR without 4K though.

There used to be 37'' TVs. I nearly bought one in 2010. Wish I had. It was a lovely TV but left it too late and it was gone then. Is there not now? There was also 39'' size ones as well.
Am sure if he shopped around he could find a TV in them sizes.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

Not only are there a lot of 4K TV's that don't have HDR, but HDR was also rushed out before the spec was agreed and formalised. There are actually three different HDR formats, HDR10, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision and not all TV's support them all

yep, there were some about and you can still get the odd 39" here and there, but with move to bigger screens the 32" is now what the 14" was back in my youthful years! :) (long long long time ago and cost over £200!) and 43" is now seen at the standard.

Theyre monitors, essentially the same thing these days anyway given the majority of people would be using a Sky box or similar via HDMI for their TV.

    Correct

Thought it might be this one:

which I've had my eye on for a while. But I guess not. Shame.

Just a small point. This TV is not as depicted in the brochure. Specifically, it does not have the centre stand as shown. It has 2 small "stands" on the extreme left and right of the TV. It means I have to get a new tv table. But I still feel it was good value for money.

Screw 4K, we got a better image with our previous Samsung HD than we are getting on our new, all singing and dancing 4K.
