    ive genuinely stopped listening. i used to keep tuning in out of habit but i now realise the station is completely gone and has no identity - apart from certain timeslots but the morning show is a disgrace

    Just turned over from Colm and Lucy talking about Takeaway Delivery Stress, to listen to some actual music on Gold.

    Friday Night 80's and The Sunday Juke Box is now nearly the only times I listen.

    Nova had a real chance there a few months back, but they've blown it. The station is all over the place and the music has got worse and worse. The decline IMO started when Colm Hayes came in. We now have the same playlist of old tunes. I've lost count how many times I've heard 'Beds are Burning' in the last month, and there more 90's indie creeping in. With Today FM a vegetable and 2FM for 'the kids' Nova had a real chance to make serious gains, but they've ****ed it up. And the Colm and Lucy Show is just diabolical. I only tune in now for a bit of Pat Courtenay or Peter Devlin. Marty is grand, as always, but on his own he's not half as good as he was with Conor. Sad.

    You absolutely nailed it. They were right on track for serious growth if they just left everything alone and then they bring in Hayes ffs.

    It was a sinking ship long before Hayes jumped on board imo....it's been years since it was anyway decent....now it's "Now that's what I call.." tracks, guitar bands don't make me laugh..Human league, Soft cell..and their obsession with Scritti politti...why..?..
    Peter Devlin did a good job this week, but even he seemed restricted in the stuff he "was allowed" to play.....

    I disagree, I was enjoying until recently, the breakfast show for all its faults seems amazing now compared the sub Crap that's on now

    Therein lies the problem - most of the DJs would probably be great and have decent playlists (look at PJ/JC/TA) but the management and producers seem to insist on the rest playing and talking shíte.

    Kieran McGuinness plays some cool tunes too, but two weekends in a row now Greg Gaughran has been doing his show.

    Well i know PC has a decent taste..if he'd just drop the "funnyness" and play the tunes..i'd say PD player at least 50% more tunes than him...didnt they have a saying ..less talk more music..or was i dreaming...:).. i know their bible says that the breakfast show is off limits..i.e they can talk for the whole show if they like...:eek:

    The Classics is on but after that I'm not sure.......the eyes are normally closed by then.

    Think might be LQ....or that could be hangover memories coming back to haunt me.

    I'm really getting sick of hearing Hayes' self promotion all over the place. Its ruining the other decent DJ's shows.
