On Tinder. We already kind of knew each other though.

Interesting that so many say they met online and very few either at work or through a hobby. The world is definitely changing.

I'd seen my missus in college, but actually met her in the pub. She was introduced by my then best friend as his new girlfriend. This was before d'internet.

Met at a concert many many moons ago.

    Before Instagram like...

Back then online dating was described with : the odds are good but the goods are odd.

Seems things have changed a bit since then

    Everyone meets on line

    EVERYONE

Then they lie and say they met in a pub.

There was no "on the line" when I met mine.

Gingerbread was where I met her. She also told me that she met me in Gingerbread, so it must be true.

Im curious, couples that meet online do they actually tell people they met online. Some friends of mine met online but they tell ppl a BS story about meeting a nightclub. Hard to keep up that lie forever.

I know a couple who met online,.....playing world of warcraft.

Now that's something I'd lie about.

With a clit piercing*, it could be your wan from Tullamore.

    * it might prove fatal to the relationship though. "Things were never the same. Felt a bit flat..."

I'm curious about how many people actually meet their partners online these days. My friends are telling me it's a majority, but I don't believe that for a second - can't think of many actual real-life couples who met on tinder or bumble or whatever yer having. Unless they're all lying.

Where did you meet your missus / fella?

How old are you that school isn't an option in the poll?

On the train, which by a great leap of imagination most people think means "online, but embarrassed to say so". Yeah going home with the guy you met on the train is a lot more socially acceptable, I'm sure.

How exactly did that come about? Sounds very romantic! Did your eyes meet across a crowded train and you handed him a note with your number on it as you were getting off?

I've seen this one, I think it was that hot blondie one from Greys Anatomy, and Gerrard Butler - he was definitely in it, or maybe it was Matthew McConaughey :D

Imagine having the psych yourself up to go to a nightclub to meet someone these days. Jaysus...

Years ago that was the case with me. Spent a while going “what ? What? What?” over **** nightclub music, snog, go on a date and realize we had absolutely zero in common, especially the few times they mentioned they were going to see Robbie Williams. Nope.

I don't understand why people care about what others think. You still have to actually meet someone online in person and see how you get on. Infact it's just efficient and easier to say hey I'm looking for someone let's chat and see how we get on.

The great thing about meeting online is that you can get a feel for the person a little bit. Makes meeting up in person much easier when you already know a little bit about them.

Met Mr Molly on the Oxegen message board back in 2005. Chatted for a bit over MSN messenger, met him in RL in Doyles pub after a Foo Fighters gig, had tequila, licked his face, never looked back. Spent 4 years doing the long distance thing Belfast-Dublin. I moved up in 2009 and we'll celebrate our 2 year wedding anniversary in June.

In a bar. She was working behind the bar and I was smitten from I walked in. 10 years later and we are still going well.
