I know ya she had no problem, giving that murdering b*tch Kerrianne 15 grand.

It’s so strange you would think the first person she would be handing out Cheques to is Damien.

Pete is an insufferable bollocks a lot of the time, it wasn’t too long ago he was unemployed himself so he should have some compassion towards Damien.

Remember she was going to give him money to go over and set up in Germany to be near his daughter , but she was talked out of it by damos starter because of the minor issue of a barring order ...because of kidnapping or something trivial :pac:

Bob is taking over from Charlie as the moral compass of Fair City (just ignore the but about stealing a cheque from a dying man).

Didn’t he also try to steal money from Charlotte’s cancer fund as well?

No mention of Will lately and this new medical center he's setting up?

Wonder will it be akin to the governments 'Centre's of Excellance' spouted a few years ago or just another 'Do drop in' for a cuppa among friends type of place.

Wasn’t that before she inherited all the money?

Just a thought..... Or maybe it's just wishful thinking :P

Was watching the interaction between Sexy Cop Steve and Carol last night and wondering if maybe, just maybe, because of her new business partnership with Cathal that he's just getting close to her in that charming way of his to use her for info/see if she knows how much Spillane is up to or if she's playing a bigger part in his criminal activities than she pretends, she does have form...?

Because he handled the murder case in a fairly different way to how we've seen most FC cops operate....

If he should be with anyone, I think it should be Jane, because let's face it, the poor woman (who happens, from the point of view of a straight female, to be gorgeous) hasn't had much luck in the romance stakes for ages.

Anyway, we all know that Carol and Robbie are going to end up back together anyway, so what's the point in giving her a new romance? Aoife is gone now, so I just think her flirting with Steve is just a way - like the Cathal Spillane thing but more subtle - of getting her own back on Robbie, but ultimately, she'll forgive him, that is until Aoife re-appears in a few weeks or months and announces that she made the wrong decision...

Because the more I think of it, the more weird it seems, even by FC standards. Carol has a fairly hefty criminal record, and Steve seems to live for his job, so why would he risk it all (especially seeing as he didn't show a hint of interest in her until now) by having anything to to with her, it definitely wouldn't do his career any favours.

Mam says the cop who killed her son - the son she's always crying about when she gets drunk) - also had an affair of sorts with her but never intended it to go any further than professional snooping in the beginning but the lines got blurred. He was also apparently seeing Niamh at the same time.... So, maybe this is a similar case.... He's not too a***d about keeping an eye on Decco, because all Decco does is deliver parcels, and maybe those parcels are kosher and just a way of throwing the cops off the scent of what he's (Cathal) really up to.

I can sense another gangland storyline coming up, because FC wouldn't be FC without one from time to time, especially when things go quiet....

Taking a bit of a break from work for next few days, the joys of being self employed - though it's not all joy believe me - but still one of the perks of working for yourself, so, and forgive me if I'm going off thread, please mods tell me to shut up or delete the post if I've strayed too far off topic. :)

But one thing I can't help but notice - though it's not as bad here on Boards as the vast majority of you are great as it is on other soap discussion forums.

My main bugbear being is that some people confuse - not accusing the regular FC Boardies of this - the character with the the actor who plays them.

Now, as characters, I loathe Carol Foley, Kerri-Ann Bishop, Pete Ferguson and a fair few others, but I have no ill feeling whatsoever IRL towards Aisling O'Neill, Jenny Dixon or Enda Oates or the others; after all, how could I? I've never met them or been subjected to verbal abuse or otherwise by any of them.
The same goes for other characters I can't stomach.

And strangely, it's often the most loathed soap characters who seem to be the nicest in real life. And sadly, a case of vice versa where it concerns fan favourites...

I remember reading a particular post on another soap site about a ''lovable'' character in a soap - not FC - where the person's gran was a massive fan of the character. The grandson/daughter approached the person in real life at some event or other and asked if they wouldn't mind taking a pic of themselves with the nan, the answer received was ''I don't do fans''.

Whereas those ''nasties'' such as the lovely man who plays Phelan in Corrie has all the time in the world for his fans as do so many others.

I also hate the body shaming of actors where the actor is being judged, not just a jokey reference to the character, the clothes wardrobe make them wear, or their behaviour.

This happened a lot before I joined boards a couple of years back to the actress who played Niamh by people you don't see on here anymore, and lately I've seen nasty comments made about the weight of the gorgeous girl who plays Hayley by one sporadic, (seemingly sexist, or else just trolling for reaction) poster in particular who needs to go to Specsavers badly.

The way I look at we can loathe the characters all we like, but not throw shade or hate in the direction of the actors who portray them, unless of course we have had a genuinely negative and uncalled for real life interaction with them, but wouldn't advise following them around a supermarket while they are out shopping for groceries with their kids or in the doctor's surgery, because they are entitled to their privacy in those situations, as they're not attending a public event, and if they snap at an over enthusiastic fan and tell them to eff off, who can blame them? We'd all likely do the same in their position.

Sorry again if I've gone totally off topic but it's one of my biggest bugbears. :)

I thought Carol looked well last night, her makeup was flawless, I wonder what brand of cosmetics was used...... I'll tell you something, I wouldn't have walked out on Sexy Cop to take drunken Robbie home!

Much as I loathe the character, I always think - apart from the way wardrobe dresses her sometimes - that Carol is really attractive and her make-up looks great. I don't know how old the actress is IRL, but my mam says she hasn't aged a day facially - apart from going from the fashion of then to now, and wasn't as well groomed when she first arrived in FC (according to Mam her son was fostered at the time by Kay McCoy and her husband, as he'd been taken into care by social workers owing to her less than great parenting skills, and in the beginning he wanted nothing to do with her, and the clothes her character wore back then, were less than complimentary, in order to reflect the brash personality of the character, that in the first few months, she wore a near constantly present bright pink t-shirt, had long greasy looking pony tail, big hoop earrings, jeans, trainers and a less than fashionable leather jacket and her first relationship was with Renee's son who went on to have the icky incestuous relationship with his own half sister, but that he (Floyd) was just basicaly using Carol for more or less the craic and she often made an idiot of herself and was a bit rougher around the edges and the accent way broader than it is now, and her first proper job was in a taxi office taking calls trying to prove to her son she'd changed). However, Mam said that Aisling O'Neill hasn't aged at all in God knows how many years and it's obvious that she's had no work done on her face, so, yeah, she's a naturally physically attractive woman. :)

But I'm with you on the Steve thing. Loving the leather jacket on him btw, I'd be snapping the hand off him for that drink and definitely wouldn't have left him behind for the recent ex who cheated on me in case someone else took his interest after I'd left :pac:

Earlier I made reference to the wardrobe dept. on FC and how they attire the characters.

For example, Niamh was never seen out of business suits – which totalled about four in all – THAT coat, the same handbag on every occasion, and the high heels (her poor feet must have been killing her) even on Sundays when most people chill out – regardless of their job – and wear the most casual comfy outfit available, and a lot of women – on those chill out days – go barefaced and often tie back their hair and wear flat shoes or trainers, yet Niamh was constantly in those same few outfits, always looking poised to go to a meeting regardless of the day.

We only ever saw the character wear the same few outfits, yet when Orla used the excuse of ''Niamh wants some of her clothes sent over'' to get into the house in order to gain access to Ruthie's Birth Cert, on the first occasion, she had a bin bag (or was it two?) full of stuff beside her on the couch.

On the second occasion, when Wayne was with her, he arrived downstairs with an armful of clothes, one of which was a white suit with black piping on the lapels which we never saw Niamh wear, along with the black dress that faded into dark red at the top which Orla decided to keep for herself, a dress which looked semi-casual, and one character – can't recall who it was, remarked on it with words to the effect: ''Didn't Niamh have a dress just like that?'' Strangely, we never saw her wear it...
Nor did I ever see her wear those pearls Orla found in the white jewellery box....

And the same goes for Jane, the poor woman is rarely out of those exposed upper arm tops, regardless of the season, and always – when she's not wearing the McCoys' uniform – looks as though she's heading for a night out on the tiles. It would be nice if they put her in a basic top/shirt/jumper with a pair of jeans during the daytime for a change. (I am the proud owner of just ONE of those style tops and a pretty cool IMO ''going on a night out'' bodycon dress with those type of sleeves, but Jane has an entire wardrobe of the things!)

Laura is another person who's rarely out of her work clothes, in her case, sporty gear, even when she's on a night out.
Please FC wardrobe dept. for the love of God give the character something different to wear; just because she's a personal trainer doesn't mean she has to wear those clothes, sometimes teemed with a body warmer or hoodie, 24/7, not have her hair done, or wear make-up on a night out.... :D

I could go on, but the list is too long because it's basically every FC character (remember Debbie and the collection of stripey tops, then her transition to the non-descript black suit and open necked white shirt which she wore when first she started in the Ballantyne, Hughie's blue shirt, Jim's tank tops and brown jackets, the late Dan's ever present fingerless gloves, Orla's green coat – which she still wears - Damo's t-shirts and hoodies and the one good shirt he has for special occasions, Aoife's fondness for grey jackets, practical scarves, black tops or shirts, and grey coats; the only time she wore anything different was during her workout session and had her hair tied back, and of course her black dress to Karen's funeral/wake, Kerri-Ann's little girl/Barbie doll dresses and handbags, and face full of make-up, even after having it bashed in by Aoife. (I imagine if your face had been bruised and battered, nose pumping blood, that the very last thing you'd want, or be able to do, due to the likely soreness and stinging when it was applied, would be to even attempt to wear make-up after getting a battering like that in the face). Actually, KA does have that off the shoulder casual grey top with the pink writing on the front, so maybe I'm being too harsh there! :D

Then again, maybe they're safer that way, because the one time Karen changed out of her usual gear and wore the white dress, boots and lace gloves, teemed with the faux fur jacket, which I quite liked, as - save the gloves and the coat colour - mine is grey - I have a very similar outfit, she ended up getting herself murdered...... Now, if I were a conspiracy theorist I'd probably see a correlation between the break from the norm and impending doom!

And lately, though thankfully nor for a while as she looked stylish in the last episode (bad sign, look what happened to Karen :P) Carol started wearing the red upper sleevless top... Was she taking a leaf out of Jane's book of fashion, or did Jane lend it to her, then again, Jane must have more sedate clothes; remember the dress she leant Harmony?

God! Birds are starting to sing outside now, so it's high time I quit my musings and went to bed for a couple of hours at least! :D Sory for all the opinions, but couldn't sleep - and still don't feel tired - maybe I need the Phoenix Way to help me relax with the aid of the circle of healing, or now that it's disbandedd, does the circle even work anymore? Has it lost all it's power, still I could always ring Miriam for a few tips! :P Night night - or rather good morning all. xxx

Wayne makes me sick - he played a massive part in the death of Karen by not calling an ambulance and trying to cover his or orla's back - and yet now he is swanning around smiling and laughing in and out of the pub and is more concerened about orla getting hold of ruthies birth cert

Is Wayne being done for this?

Bob and Jim are wrecking my head. They're like a broken record. However, the actors Bryan Murray and Owen Roe obviously work very well together so credit where credit is due.

Catching up on plus one. Wouldn't all of Bob and Renée's balloons be soggy by Sunday?

Well Renees balloons went soggy about 20 years ago. Not sure about Bob, does he have balloons.

Well I can hardly contain myself with the excitement today. Bob and Renees big day has finally arrived and where else will they have the afters but down in McCoys. Perhaps Ellie and what's her face, Heather might pop in for a flying visit from Brazil. Wouldn't that be lovely.

Speaking of McCoys can someone please explain how exactly is Chewy Hughie related to Renee and Farrah.

Hughie is Christys brother so he would be Farrah’s uncle and Renee’s ex brother in law.
