Is the child not 50% of the father. ?

    Nope.

    50% when it's born maybe.

Are you volunteering to have a sex change and carry a ....... around for 9 months while the father says "you're doing great".

Heard a rumble outside, had to stop and think, silage trailer or thunder. Turns out to be thunder.

So the baby doesn't share 50% of it's genes with it's father until the day it's born?

Have to say I think that post was uncalled for. Don't see any poster here stating that women should "know thier place"

It's statements like that that muddled up this whole referendum into a circus at times.

    Ah listen cop on Reggie.

There's a whole load of hypothetical scenarios that could have happened in the past and that each one of us mightn't have been here today.
My mother had to carry a dead baby and couldn't abort it in this country before I was born and suffered for her health because of it. If she had of died because of this I mightn't be here today.

But this was the stupidest rule ever imposed on women in Ireland. It was all about power play from the Catholic church and that women should accept 'their shame'. Again a male ruled Catholic church influencing the government in this country and if you didn't like it tough.
This country had more similarities with Taliban ruled Afghanistan than it did with our nearest neighbour.

It annoys the f**k out of me when I hear men (and I am one) dictate how a woman should have to carry a child even if they don't want to.

So apologies Reggie if anything is uncalled for.

Live by the sword, die by the sword. If youre prepared to have sex you should be prepared to have a baby??

Yes I do believe it's uncalled for. Most of my posts you will find is aimed at the lack of trust in the government for the future.

Why. ..because I'll start arguing again with you again. :pac:

We've come a long way in this country. I definitely don't want to see it go back again.

Just for a bit of history my grandfather was a hackney driver. Unfortunately he had the job to transport young single women to the laundry in nenagh from the southeast because they fell pregnant out of wedlock. Of course all these women the home story was that they went to England to find work. Being a church of Ireland driver the priests knew that word would never get out among the flock.

I'll never change my position that it's the woman's choice alone what happens her body and no one else's.

Edit: just seen greysides post above.
    Done and zipped.

We had rain there a while ago for the first time in a fortnight with lightning and no thunder.

The frequency of the lightening is something I have never seen the likes of before.Very little thunder,It has just hit land between Youghal and Cork but the flashes are still powerful here in KK.

It got fairly bad here in Wexford after last night. It was fairly intense alright. Normally I'd be out to give a good gawk at mother nature's fury. But since I was at silage a few hours before I pulled the covers over my head.
I still have a paddock with wrapped bales left beside a paddock of heifers. Hopefully the heifers stayed where they were with all that thunder.

Did you change your own tractor after?

You were thinking of a newer model.

So off on hols tomorrow morning. This is the first time I've been away for a significant space of time since dad stepped back. Now he's doing v well at the moment but I'm after getting v anxious. Doesn't help that we still have cows calving and I thought the heifers would be finished by now....I think farming turns you into a bit of a control freak!!!
I won't really be contactable either so here is hoping all goes well. ill be stressed this evening writing instructions me thinks!!!!

Why write instructions tell your dad to keep an eye on things have you a neighbour that can give him a dig out if needed just leave him a number to ring. Last time I went leaving it to the father I got farm relief to call in an hour a day . Just to reassure him and the chap left him his number for emergencys.

Ah I have done that-have a neighbour who will help out and a cousin Calling down. Tbf my parents should be fine it's just I'm panicking now! Instructions are more for Mam as she will be doing the non tractor stuff feeding animals etc so it's more for her where to move the next batch, (i.e. Not the silage field beside them currently!!) and what to dose a calf with (prob neighbour will do that if needed)
dad doesn't have as much mobility but he will know the fields etc. Logically it will be fine-as I'm just getting myself in a heap for nothing as I said farming is turning me into a control freak!. I would have liked those heifers to have calved thou!!
