Oak Veneer Worktop Drain board?

    So, Currently looking for a oak veneer worktop.
    Seen this a lot on google.

    Would it not be rubbish with water draining from Glasses, baby bottles and the sorts?
    My fear is the water would get into the grain or even the core?

    I would think that to create the drainage flutes/channels you would have to be working with solid oak for the top. Solid wood worktops can be quite troublesome with twisting, cracking warping as they are a natural product.
