Pat is a great broadcaster but who really doesn't envy him right now?

    He is excellent tonight.

Jeff Rudd? There's a whole thread about him on boards.

Nope, some random woman that my mouse just happened to be hovering over

I don't. I don't envy any of the moderators of any of the debates as they can't win.

    This:

Provision may be made by law for the regulation of termination of pregnancy.
So we're voting for "may...". Well thanks for clearing nothing at all up then.

We are voting against the 8th. What are we voting for to replace it?

You are not voting for that.

You are voting to repeal it or not.

    It will not be replaced.

When repealed then the way will be cleared for the Oireachtas to legislate on abortion.
So so so many people still don't understand that.

Ah the local loon. He's quite something worth checking his exploits on Facebook for giggles.

Think is where you see the experience of someone like Pat Kenny - he can really keep it under control.

Steen must be raging she's up there with Mullen.

    Kenny is a cuunt.

The two wallys on the yes side are a pack of salty cuunts too.

The No campaign is juddering to a full stop once it comes up against truth and rational thought.

Yes, may. I don't know what's so difficult about it? We will not, and never will get a vote on the legislation. We are voting on whether or not you want the 8th in the constitution. That is it.

Clearing up? What are you talking about? That's the proposed amendment to the constitution.

He's dead right. She's just waffling in a superior smug tone without making any valid point.

I like that Pat isn't even taking any **** from the audience members.

Maria (I love the sound of my own voice) is getting a right bollicking from Pat - I'm delighted, I can't stand the woman.

Is there a reason why IONA institute is listed as a charity? Does anyone know what so of charitable work they do? Just wondering as I never see them marching for homeless, hospital trolleys, etc.

As a Yes voter even I admit PK is being dreadfully biased. He pretty well scolded Steen there.

Although Ive often thought about putting Steen over me knee for a good scolding myself. I could swim in her eyes but I hate the cold hearted sow. Im as conflicted as the Bull Mick when a few quares sashay into his bar...

If and when the amendment is repealed. I don't think it should be a cause for celebration akin to the marriage referendum. I am voting Yes but in the hope that abortions aren't carried out willy-nilly and that all options are looked at first.
Whatever happens on Friday, women will still have to look in their hearts and make an awful choice.
I'm pro choice but fully conscious that it's a heartbreaking choice.

    This too shall pass.

Divorces and gay marriages started from a baseline of 0 though. Abortions still happen here, so won't rise exponentially like the other two.

It's still logical that abortion rates here will increase as people who travel abroad will have their abortion here.

Today, abortions are highly restricted and low. The numbers are bound to increase when made legal.

Yeah I'd agree with that. So depends on how figures are twisted if they include those who travel or don't.

At least those who travelled will be able to do it here, rather than facing a daunting journey.

Ducked out of this thread early today but just returning briefly to say that Maria’s thunder-face just there was gold.

I often criticise Kenny for talking over guests and finishing their point but he's taking no **** here literally turned his back on Steen

    Good for him! :)

It's hilarious how both sides think their horse is winning.

    ****ing pathetic childish nonsense.
It's barely controlled mayhem with more interruptions than anything.

Not a Kenny fan, but HE is doing good so far. Very balanced in his moderating and I am a NO

We should have had a referendum when condoms were made illegal in 1935 to allow them to be used, would have prevented a lot of unwanted children being born.

It wasn't until there was a lethal virus called HIV and AIDS going around that was killing heterosexual people as well that condoms were allowed. When it affected gay people, not a problem.
The moment straight ppl were dying-it was a catastrophe.

The church has always been concerned with 'the unborn'-but once their living, they're on their own.

All the stories of FFA are dreadfully sad. But what gets me with the No side who are talking about their babies is that even if you repeal the 8th, you can still carry that baby to term. People can still choose to carry the sick baby to term, or, they can choose to induce early or abort. Repealing the 8th does not mean that they are going to force you to have an abortion if your baby is diagnosed with a FFA.

Exactly! So vote no and force them to the UK. Vote yes and show compassion and allow them to be surrounded by friends and family.
