You sure that you're signing in with the account that has an active Gold subscription?

    Yep

On the xbox itself i could get the xbox one game but not 360 game. May be cause its an 18 title.

I tried to edit date of birth but cant

That's how it works for 360 games. You click the Buy button, and it takes you to a different site, marketplace.xbox.com, where you should see the price for the game has a note, Special Live Gold Price FREE. You click all the way through, and the PayPal message should say FREE. It's as if you buy the game and it costs nothing.

Oops! I remember now. For the child account, you get a message that says:
Your account is unable to make this type of purchase on Xbox.com. Please complete this transaction from your Xbox.

From what I can gather, when they say try to buy on your Xbox, they actually mean buy on your "Xbox 360", which is, needless to say, less than ideal for anyone that doesn't have an Xbox 360.

There's so many hidden gotchas with Gold on child accounts that I was wary of recommending their use back in the 360. It's a lot better in the current era, but some features of the old Xbox Live haven't been upgraded at all, and the 360 child account restrictions is one of them

Xbox tells me to go to xbox.com

Xbox.com tells me to go to xbox.

Not sure what the issue is.

So ive been onto microsoft twice.

Monday they told me it should be resolved in 24 hours. Back on to them today. Said the only way to get back compat games with child account is with a 360.

I dont have access to a 360 so there i nothing that can be done

    No resolution at all.

    Cant promote account to adult.

I even suggested moving the xbox live to a new adult profile but as its used more than one month it cant be done either

    Its a strange one.

Yeah, I thought that might be the case, totally sucks. Microsoft have generally got a good reputation for customer service, but this restriction on the Xbox 360 child accounts is one that really views them every time. In fairness to them, I really think that if they could help you, they would, but the systems that they have won't allow it without major reconfiguration.

I only gave the old 360 away on monday. I could find someone with a 360 to login and claim it but its still a ridiculous situation.

The problem really is that there is a singular way to claim the game as a customer and microsoft have no remedy for the problem, if you no longer have an xbox 360.

Same with the ridiculous situation where you can't buy 360 games with Microsoft Credit except on a 360, even if the game is free a credit card is still required.

Buying 360 games from the Xbox 1 uses a container to the xbox.com website. So problem is the restriction on child accounts buying games online.

It's probably not as great as I think it is but I went into it with no expectations and enjoyed the crap out of it. One of my favourite games on the 360.

It's absolutely amazing....... up to a point. Then it just stops, recycles earlier levels, etc. A shocking ending to an enjoyable game. Konami are really trying to smear s***e all over their reputation.

Of course, it's amazing if you like stealth games, if you don't, then it may not be as enjoyable.

I loved the originals but lost my way after the 3rd.

Oh, the story is nonsensical at best, so I didn't even try to follow it. Still, the stealth in the game is some of the best out there. Infiltrating a base without anyone being the wise is some buzz.

Grand I've a week off next week so should help with the boredom, was thinking of getting Far cry 5 so be nice to switch between the 2.

Same, I've always enjoyed baseball games but they go on forever with those 9 innings, still, its a lot of fun when you hit the ball and it smacks the Pitcher, knocking him/her out lol

Downloaded Metal Gear V, it's going to look great in my backlog.
Some time in the distant future I'll remember that I'm crap at stealth games.
