Do children still learn irish folklore i.e Táin,Na Fianna etc in schools?

    Do children still learn irish folklore i.e Táin,Na Fianna etc in schools?

    We used to 20- 25 years ago just wondering do teachers still read this stuff to kids today?

    I think most schools base 14 years of schooling on one simple premise - getting students to say "yes Sir" when speaking to a teacher, anything after that is irrelevant to future employers.

    Yes we do. Well I did in Primary and currently am again in 5th year.. and have to for the LC.

    That 'sir' thing is also very true.

    "Still" ...? :confused:

    Apart from simplifie versions of the stories of Cuchulain and the Salmon of Knowledge in primary, and a bit of Na Fianna poetry in secondary, we never learnt anything. I had to learn about all the rest of it all myself. :)
