Aliens is far better than Alien and is one of the best films ever made, it's in my top 10 but Terminator 1 & 2, Braveheart, Shawshank, Gladiator and Pulp fiction are better though

Ripley is absolutely amazing, she was the greatest female character in the history of storytelling but in recent times she has lost her crown to Arya Stark

Especially the "directors" cut (of Alien3) , if anyone hasn't seen it I highly recommend it , it's like a different film - and a lot better ... hmmm might watch it later actually.

Aliens is good but Alien is superior IMO.

The tension, atmosphere and claustrophobia hasn't been beaten, one alien stalking and taking out the entire crew one by one was brilliant.

The thing runs it close though.

Aliens is definitely up there with the worst films I've ever seen.
I really don't get what people like about it.
The script, the props, the acting, the plot - I just can't find anything good to say about it.

Alien on the other hand is a masterpiece of quiet tension.

It was when she went in read and saw posters for “The Terminator” that she knew that she was really in trouble. In a brilliant twist of fate, though, the nice blouse that she was wearing happened to be sleeveless, which showed off Goldstein’s arms. She had taken up bodybuilding recently and it showed in her arms.

She later recalled, “‘She said, ‘Are you an actress or a bodybuilder?’” Goldstein laughs. “I was a gymnast. I just happened to be in the best shape of my life.'”

So they agreed to see her again, only this time she wore army boots and pulled her hair back and everything and eventually, she got the role.

aliens is a great movie and predator was too but I wouldn't rewatch again and again
when harry met sally and the bridges of Madison county are both fantastic movies and are rewatchable again and again hence my vote for best movies ever ....
