Hey all. So I was diagnosed with Keratoconus a year back. Vision has been on the downhill since 2013/14 when I developed Crohns disease.

Anyway. My eyesight has become very poor and i got cross linking surgery and now have contacts fitted for keratoconus.

Now dont get me wrong .. im so grateful. Theyve restored my long distance vision. I can read a book. A phone not only in my face. See a TV clearly and even see the detail in trees and the sky etc in a way I couldnt have before. I still cant drive though.

However .... its close up objects .. Mainly people! That are the issue. Everyones skin looks terrible. I legit cant look at myself in the mirror. I look 50 not 23. My parents ... my friends ... strangers. Anyone who doesnt have perfect skin suddenly looks hideous.

Its as though they magnify every blemish, spot, pore and shade of skin tone.

Its horrifying. I can’t bare to see myself anymore.

Its it possible they are TOO STRONG for short distance vision ...

Please say yes .. it scares me to think I really may be seen like that by all people and I just have forgotten how my skin really looks .. how everyones looks 👀

    Thanks guys. Appreicate any replies.

No. You just couldn't see properly before is all.
