Those of you watching Rain - are ye watching the English dub or the subtitled original? I watched ep 1 subbed, but it hasn't gotten my attention the way Dark did. I found the first episode a bit tediously overlong for the square root of b*gger-all that actually happens for most of it, but the setup at the end hopefully means episode 2 picks up.

Definitely subtitled original, I can't handle dubbed stuff.

    Always watch in original subtitles.

Yeah I'm not feeling Rain much either. On episode 4 and not pushed to go back.

Yeah it’s grand. Wasn’t awful but I Wouldn’t be rushing to recommend it

Agree about Rain, was looking forward to it before it came out but 3 episodes in and it isn't anything special, will more than likely finish it off still.

I really enjoyed Rain. Thought the opening episode was one of the best pilots I've seen.

Thanks for the Greg Davis recommendations. I had tears streaming down my face in parts. Very good.

Disappointed to hear about Rain, was really looking forward to it.

I didn't enjoy the first episode of the rain either. It was fairly poorly made with some dodgy acting. The end would leave you a bit intrigued but for me not enough to go back especially having read what others have said here who've watched more than a few episodes. Usually I wouldn't give up on a series so quick but with this one I smell a turd.

Hearing some good things about happy so that will be the next one to check out methinks.

Yeah Rain fell a bit flat for me aswell after enjoying the first couple of episodes. Disappointing as I thought it had a lot of potential. Can’t seem to get into many Netflix series, seems to be a lot more quantity over quality. Any sign of series 2 of Manhunter?

    A damp squib.

Fairly predictable throughout, silly non ending blatantly whoring for season 2

    jeepers creepers 3

Anytime I want to support a director that's sexually abused child actors in his care in the past, I stick on one of the Jeepers Creepers movies.

I've only seen teh first episode of Rain. Really enjoyed it though. Intend to watch the rest of them. It was spookier when she was exploring the hospital than would have been the case if she was exploring after a zombie epidemic. I like the idea of a post apocalyptic series where the problem is just a disease that kills people, rather than some kind of monster invasion.

Having said that I hear netflix are giong to adapt "The Passage" into a series. That is one that should be good. For those that haven't read it:
The concept in the passage is that the "virals" are vampire analogues rather than zombies. They are like a seperate species that reproduces by infecting with the virus. They were hidden to avoid extinction until civilisation collapsed, then they came out from the shadows. So they are fast, intelligent and strong, though no supernatural powers. They can't tolerate bright lights, so to survive you have to ensure that the lights don't go out at night.

The book is well worth a read, hope the series does it justice.

An awsome book. The first was the best of the trilogy. I think it would make a great TV show.

Travelers might be a bit out there for some people but you really get into it. I'd also recommend Mindhunter, Shadowhunters, and The Last Kingdom for anyone looking for a binge.

Seen an ad for 'Safe' last night, looks intriguing. Any opinions here?

    This too shall pass.

not sure if its been mentioned here but arrested development fans who had a problem with season 4's narrative creator Mitchell Hurwitz has re-edited the 15 episodes into 22 that follow the traditional Arrested Development story structure

I'm about 7 or 8 episodes in and it's a vast, vast improvement on the original season 4. Much better.
