MFP macros

I am currently calorie counting on MFP. I'm still getting use to the process but thankfully having a good experience so far.

At the moment I'm on 1700 calories for a weekly 2lbs weight loss. I usually get to 1550 to 1700 no problem but I'm just wondering about the macros.

I find it impossible to stay on target or under on the fat and protein but I'm always under on the carbs.

    My goals are 50% Carbs-30% Fat-20% Protein

Yesterday I finished with 1665 calories with
    29% carbs 21% under goal
    40% fat 20%over goal
    31% protein 11% over goal

Would these numbers have a massive impact overall. Has anyone any tips on how to fine tune to get my goals.

I have lost 7lbs in just over 2 weeks but I understand a lot would be water etc.

The total calorie intake is what counts for weight loss.

In general terms, protein should stay reasonably constant (at am appropriate level, which may not be the 20% that MFP has laid out) and you can adjust fats and carbs according to your total intake.

The % breakdown by MFP isn't a prescription. You can adjust that according to what you want.
